Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

Weekend here——- my how time flies when you’re having fun—— or breaking down badly built concepts and making them good !
Reached a point yesterday when I could do no more to either the Traveler or US1 so I made big inroads int Scotty B’s Keikhaefer 111——— was well pleased with the day’s efforts.
Will be a very short day today——- needto visit the recycling facility ( scrapyard to you and me).
Neighbour asked me to do a complicated gate arrangement——— don’t have enough raw material.
Sams taking me to Goodwood for a swim and a sauna—— then to watch the grudge game between England and Ireland ———- Six nations started yesterday with Wales thumping the French——-not that that had anything to do with BREXIT——— or did it ?
Underestimate the Brits at your peril—— we’re smarter than the average ——- You only get to crap on us the once———

If you want to see it——- it will be at the Miami Boat Show mid February!

How the hell do you do it Crisis ?
Always one of the three of you manage to get me out of a tight scrape!

Been invited to a Bar- B-Q tomorrow at James Shepherd ‘s house——- half the Geico team are over here on a winter break —— depends on the weather and the mood I’m in.
Things to do——- concepts to make good——- could really do with a clear day in the shop——I’ll simply play it by ear.
Had a great day with Sam at Goodwood——swam six lengths of the pool——- spell in the staam room, then a sauna and the jacuzzi.
Do I feel like a new man?———- no, I do not—— but I live in hope.

Monday Monday——- just love that day—- start of another week, —— must have six things on the go all at once———-
Made my first propeller on the three Dee printer——— got the size wrong——- perfectly formed miniature——- less than a quarter inch!
Second one I tried to speed up the process and got a nice three bladed net prop——- must learn “ PATIENCE”—— Afraid it was never one of my virtues.
Did manage to catch up with Gary and Lou and the Geico crew——- was too pushed for time to stay for dinner but it was nice to spend an hour or so with them.
Final tests for Miss Donzi today——-best of luck son——and grandson!

Today was like the road to hell——- paved with good intentions—— When I switched the 3DP off last night there was a malfunction——— bollocks—— I’ll leave it until morning.
24 Hours later and I still haven’t got around to fixing it.
Neighbour Came round with an upgrade on what he wanted me to fernagle——— already had four other projects in full swing —— plus —— I got an idea that I’d better get cracking on before I forget!
Workshops a disgrace—- but I have no time to rectify——- the roundabout is spinning faster——- and if I don’t hang on tight, I’ll be chucked into outer space!
CITICORP now has all its livery fairly intact———- might get it completed in the morning
Finished US1’s superstructure complete with small screen—— do the decals and fiddly bits later.
You May start to understand how come I never did get around to the 3DP.

Couple of model boats I saw at James Shepard’s house last Sunday afternoon!
Managed to pull a deal with him on the. R/C Fountain——— of course he has his own lake for R/C racing. As you do ?

Lizzie did a sleepover last night—— I’m baby sitting until nine, so the shop will have to wait a while !
should be able to post a few piccies later in the day——- couple of the projects are nearing the coolie.

Getting fairly close to finishing both of these———— waiting for the MERCURY MERCRUISER decals for US1——- And the plexiglass for the CITICORP TRAVELER screen.
Yeah, I know the US1 looks a shade on the long side Gene——— But I Told you a thousand times——- it’s a concept.
Did manage a brand fire new mount——- got the angle about right too——- and there’s no way the “SCREENSTOO BIG”.

Remember i I said I had four concepts on the go at once———— I lied——- I have eight going on at once and I’m rapidly disappearing up my own arse !
On the bright side——— I finished my neighbour’s fancy gate arrangement——-fixed the 3DP——- conjured up two three bladed props successfully——— and damned near finished two concepts.
All in all——- not a bad day’s work after all.
Just another five to go and I’m on top of it!

Looks like the Biltmore Hotel on Palm Beach, next to the bridge, in the center photo. I was part of the "team" that gutted & renovated the Biltmore, in the late 70's. Nice photo's Gene "Langham" ;)
