Reminds me of stock racing back in the day - at Hinton in '69 we had 48 A Stock hydros show up, 4 elim heats. Since the National Champ and Divisional winners were already qualified, youo had to get a 1st or 2nd to make the final. I got a 3rd. So droeve 2000 miles to run two heats. I did get my nuts painted though. (Alternates got the block nuts painted so you couldn't work on the engine - for those who were thinking otherwise).

Above Photo: The first driver to officially exceed 100 M.P.H. in an offshore race boat. It was August 11th, 1980 at Lake Windermere Great Brittain. Lady Arran drove the Lorne Campbell designed trimaran with two modified Mercury 225 V-6 outboards for power. Onboard was her copilot Roger Trigg. Her recorded speed was 102.45 M.P.H.
