I’ve really been into J.J. Cale’s music, lately. He’s one of the most under rated, cool cat white boy musicians, ever. He wrote After Midnight, Cocaine, and Call me the Breeze that were later re recorded by other musicians. He was a hero to Clapton and Mark Knopfler.

Notice how on After Midnight, J.J. plays the intro guitar lick and first chorus w- a lit cigarette in his strumming hand then casually pops it in his mouth before Leon’s piano solo!

Damn, I saw him downtown Chitown when Thick as a Brick album came out. FIRST song was off Thick, and LASTED 1 HOUR, 18 minutes! Thought show over, and then .."now for my second song"..! Concert lasted 3 1/2 hours! Still his best..
