Looks killer :D nice job.
That motor sure did turn out nice. Hope to see it run. In person one day.

I love it when I plan comes together!
Just got back in from a quick ride. Everything including amount of fuel was the same as the last time I ran the boat. Got up on plane much faster with a lot less bow rise. Felt better/stronger at every speed and ran 2mph faster on the top end with the same prop, weather, load, etc. It must be the combination of losing 30 pounds, less wind resistance, and the only thing I had to change that would effect horsepower was cutting 1/2" off the tuner.
Anyway, its all good. Boat drives better all the way around which was my goal.

Thought I heard something earlier ... Sounds killer Chris.
Just got my block back from Don today, so hopefully I'll be hearing some similar music soon.
Hear ya 'bout this heat. Combined with the weight I lost from the diverticulitis, it's killin me.
Hey what'r ya gonna do with your jack plate? Can I borrow it for awhile? Heh heh heh

Don't get jealous if I copy cat your setup haha - But i'm thinking a mercury 115 will be plenty for my goals haha.
Have at it but my boat is very wide for its length which is why its able to carry a bigger motor and rive like a bigger boat. If it had a pickle fork design like most cats it would measure about 15' but would not drive any different.
Just ordered a new top end prop and we are trying a little something different with cylinder heads with Hydrotech. Looking for a little more bottom end / midrange.
CHRIS...got any 26p perf prop drag 4 used laying around, just can't afford to buy a new one rite now + would like to try one first...has to be drilled for omc or removable hub to fit my V/8 thanks
THANKS...can't believe your little boat is faster than my MISSLE was with a 2.5 offshore MERC, guess it's weight/horsepower keep it up...be safe...
Your motor looks great. Very good work you have done. 100 may not be out of reach. How much does your rig weigh?
the late 115 can probably be made to make 125-130 HP at the prop with a few changes. Bolt it up to a 15 inch mid and you have a 290lb motor.Quote:

I need to weigh it but manufacturer says 500 pounds rigged without motor. I have taken a lot of weight out of it though and really dont trust manufactueres numbers anyway. I would guess 800-1000 pounds plus I weigh 230. Add in fuel and some gear.
In the video you can see how much the motor was smoking at idle. I think all that water getting dumped into the same spot right where the tuner ends really restricts the exhaust and made it go rich. It didnt smoke like that before. You can see how much water is dumping out at the prop.
My poppet is pretty much always open at anything over idle I have a 25psi at anything over idle. I may need to divert some of that poppet water.
