I should be at the Conn River Run. Anyone who wants to try my 28 Trophy worked by DUH is welcome to. Got tons of lift if you got the motor to turn it.
Just curious what your boat weighs and what rpm are you turnin the 28? I'll have to pass on the river run... probably puttin it way for the winter after the romp. But thanks. Maybe next year. Sharp boat.
that is dam fast for a pretty heavy boat with no setback and the motor deep in the water. what type of speedo do you have?
That is were you guys went wrong. You both assumed it was heavy... its a kevlar hull. And yes it does need set back and more prop... then it should really run. I am leaving it as is so the kids can tube at a reasonable speed. Plus its more fun watching you two trying to figure out the speeds. Right now it does just fine running it deep and safe. I know its hard to believe its running that much better than it did in June... but it is. You guys just have to ask the right questions.
gps speed?
my only two guesses ur motor is worked, or u have a water pick up speedo thats is giving u a false reading. im not calling bs or starting anything because im not on the boat with you to see, i have just been reading this and find it hard to believe that mikes boat which is a potatoe chip and setup pretty well is that much slower than your boat that is not what most people on here would consider a proper setup. with the motor that deep i would think the boat would be a handful to drive, and if u can drive it to those speeds i give u credit. post some gps pics or a video or something so we can stop guessing! =)
I'm not trying to figure out speeds, I know how fast i was going when i pulled on you more then once at the romp, I know what your boats capable of which is why im not calling you out. Anybody with enough knowledge on setup knows what it should and should not run. Also even if your boat is kevlar with the full interior, and runnign gear it will weigh in very close to mine if not heavier. You are also the only one who claims impressive speeds with no actual gps proof. Just don't come out saying how funny it is watching us try and guess your speed when your claiming to run numbers that are very hard to believe given your setup. Also what year is your velocity, and does it have the forward cuddy? Year and cuddy have a great deal to do with weight on these boats also. While I am on a rant i do belive that you claimed the 250pro xb was 3 mph faster, does this mean you ran 84-85 mph, right on the edge of blowout for the factory lower unit? was this also on the magical 26p prop? If you want to come out and make a statement laughing at us for tryin to figure out how ur boat can possibly run as fast as you claim then I hope you have proof to back it up.
i was more than surprised when you walked past me at the romp and i was doing close to 70. i didnt think the boat would be that quick with no setback but it did surprise me and i was like dam that boat is moving. etechs are good motors and make some good power i just dont see how it is possible unless you have done something significant that you are hiding from us. so come on and spill the beans lol
those speeds (mikeylarges) aren't B.S , this boat does 82mpg GPS weighing 3000 lbs ( minus the driver )

Here is why we are all calling your bluff. Here is a picture of velocity3.6gt who claims 81 mph on a 26 trophy with a regal built kevlar 22 running at the romp. Look at how much boat is in the water running. This picture was taken close to 60 mph according to 87 starflite who is in the checkmate running next to him.

This is how my boat rides which is a non kevlar 85 stepp built hull. Picture taken at roughly 70 mph

We are all basically calling out your bluff because you are claiming very impressive numbers with a prop pitch that has proven to run 73-74 mph for both highvelocity and myself. You are also claiming these number with a motor hieght of 3-4 inches below the pad, and no setback on the boat at all. 3 of us including myself are in the marine industry fulltime and just find it very hard to believe that your boat runs what you claim it to run.
And here is my proof

Where is yours?
