Anyone ever get a 22 velocity to hit triple digits with single outboard?
Link's Marine in Newark, De. He had an 85 or 86 with a warmed-up V8 that would do 100. I never rode in it, but talked to him a number of times (this was before I had my Velocity). It was very light and as I remember, you could not walk on the deck. There is an old thread somewhere from years back where he and the doubters went round and round about it.
I have an 85 that I'm in the process of rebuilding and my deck is same way gotta walk on the edges, have a dbr 300xs for it, hoping for 90's but wondering if anyone got over 100 in one
I believe Link used to say he estimated he was pushing close to 400 HP.

Got any pictures with the Verado on it?
Looks like this thread could use some life! Been on S&F for 3 years researching setup and learning tons, been the most valuable resource so far.
This is my second go fast boat, love the space, lines, and handling. It's use is recreational (going to islands in Long island), and speed runs. I think 75 is in there with seat time and a different prop.
Year: 1987
Kevlar or not: Not
Motor: Merc 2.5 carbed, 1" spacer, velocity stacks, bobs offshore snout and cone.
Lower unit ratio: 1:87

Prop: 24 chopper, cupped

Wow that Verado looks huge! Also never seen a velocity with that paint scheme (solid color).
Dnelson, I have a trophy plus 25, seems these hulls like them....but I think it will be too much for the 2.5 to spin to 6400. I want to get it turned down to a 24, any recommendations for prop places on L.I. ?
Nice looking rig. How does it run with the Verado and what HP is it?
300hp, I have two batteries in the front that makes the balance really nice. Drives really well, so easy to get her flying. Straight up on plane with very little bow rise. So quiet you only just hear it at idle.
I'd really recommend it over a two stroke, I've have both and once you've tried Verado you won't want the two stroke again.
