Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

Great excitement in the village———— two big black clouds came over——- didn’t dump any rain us, just passed on by !
Weather forecast for the next ten days is hot and sunny with a chance of the odd thunderstorm on the 2nd August! Big FECKIN deal !
Really got my knickers in a twist with the concept——- in the end, the only thing I could do, was walk away from it and think how in the hell I could get over it———- came to me in the night, how I could get the fulcrum right.
Sometimes I think I’m quite bright————- other times I can be a dumb asse——— but on balance, I get by!
Her next to me is improving by the day——— she threw away the crutches——— fell flat on her face——- blamed me for it——— ( just kidding). Walking round the house unaided, directing from the couch. I still have to put the washing out every day and pick up the dog doo doo twice a day ( a job I’ve intensely hated all my life).
Today I Mount the six cars on top of the obelisk———moment of truth——- if it all tips over, then I must have got something wrong!!!!

If I had to go out and actually buy the exact porkies that were on show there at Goodwood— it would cost me more than I would ever get for the whole damn concept.
Hells teeth Phill—- it’s only a progress piccie of an old farts concept—- I knew I should have waited until the whole thing was done and dusted!
Anyway, when you see the last car to go on top —— you’ll crap your pants and have FECKIN nightmares!

Had little Lizzie visiting this afternoon so the concept took second place and never got finished—- maybe sometime over the weekend.

Yesterday the combine harvester cleared the wheat field next door in an afternoon——- a pair of trailers carted the grain off but the dust created was intense.
Saturday and the car boot beckons———don’t need anything, but there’s a couple of tool merchants coming round as I’m clearing out a bunch of unwanted machines.
Will put the finishing touches to the Goodwood Concept and post piccies of the final result ?
Meanwhile I’ve still got dog walking and garden watering and chores to see to. Her indoors is getting ever better so I have to tread careful——— reprisals can be painful.

Well, it’s finished—— the Goodwood! Looks the dogs cajones too.
Take piccies later——- I’m off to the beach at Elmer——- might just drop my tootsies in the briney or take th laser for a spin ?

Was too hot to go in the sea——-water was like the Bahamas clear and bathwarm, played a few ends of “PÉTANQUE” on the beach——- a glass of DOM and some good company.
Nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon——— going again today, won’t be high tide until 18:00 hrs, so maybe we won’t be launching the laser ——- unless the sea is quite calm.
will bring the Goodwood out on to the patio glass topped table———- maybe get a better phoggie of it outside, instead of in the shop which is always cluttered up.
Oh yes, forget to tell you, it’s over 80 today——- with 90+ forecast for the rest of the week.
Who needs the South of France when you got Elmer ?

Last weeks efforts——- the Goodwood——took a while, but we got there in the end!

Bob———stop stirring the sh-t———- I last saw my “good friend”—— Phill forty five years ago. He was married to my great friend Don Ross’s daughter Shirley who I thought the world of.
They are no longer together, I do not know the circumstances.
I try to stay clear of other people’s business at all times ——- I have enough to do keeping my own house in order.
Phill was an acquaintance years ago, we have never been close friends !
I have always been good friends with the Ross family——- Daphne, Dons wife, Shirley, Mike, Tina and Yvonne.
Don always bore the brunt of the expense when it came to racing——- was supposed to be a 50/50 deal——- somehow Don always paid more than I did, but he never once complained—— one of the nicest men ever to grace the race circuit!

You know me Bob———- I don’t do models—especially “Scale”—— I don’t know how ! I just create stuff the way I see it, but with a bit of “ Artists licence”.
No doubt I could do things closer to the real thing———- but who gives a flying fart about it anyway, it’s not as though there’s any value in the concepts, apart from keeping the arthritis at bay And the little grey cells active.
If I’d wanted to recreate the Porky sculpture in great detail——- I would have called on Mike Bellamy to work out the geometry (he’s one of those characters that knows everything about everything and is never wrong) and really taken the time and trouble to make something memorable——- but I’m not built like that !
Met up with Gary Stray and My grand daughter Lou last night at the GRIBBLE he showed me his project for the Smithsonium Museum——— it’s taken six months up to now, and he’s not even half way through it, puts my stuff to shame!

Cleared the dog doo-doo, watered the whole garden (took a little over the hour——— took the dog for “Walkies” in the woods, it’s now 8:30am and the day has just begun ! Next stop Barclays Bank——- Im having great issues with the idiots that think they can charge me five quid a time if my account goes into the red for a day—— this in spite of the fact I have an overdraft facility for thirty days!
A month ago I went in and a sweet little thing told me she would knock off all charges—— well it hasn’t FECKIN well happened and I’m pissed off at Barclays———- after forty five years ( before I became a number and not a person) I’m about to withdraw everything out and stick it under the bed——- no good changing banks—— they’re all alike ——DEEPLY DEVIOUS AND DISHONEST!DOPEY DICKHEADS.

No bloody wonder high street banks are disappearing rapidly—-incompetent fools—— sooner they’ve all gone , the better !
Was greeted by a skirted middle aged bird wielding a crib board—— all smiles and make up with the smell of “EVENING IN PARIS “ seeping out ?
Can I help you sir? Yes, I need to see the lady who misinformed me about my bank statement ! Would you like to sit down sir,'—-NO—— well sir, there is a waiting time of one to one and a half hours before a “consultant” can see——- are you out of your tiny mind I asked——- I don’t have enough hour and a half’s left in my life to waste one waiting for Barclays to clear their lines of dissatisfied customers.
