Another real interesting thing in the picture above..is the boat to the right..red arrow.
Its a Swedish friend of mine..the boat is powered by a 2 liter ROTARY..and they won the inboard class.
Maybe JW should have been competing in the inboard class instead and lost to a rotary..
HeeHee..pretty funny..!!:)
A Rotary – (Wankel) wins the 2 liter class in Paris 6 hours 1970.

Ralph Evinrude Test Center Gets A New Life - What was previously the Ralph Evinrude Test Center in Stuart Florida is now the Atlantic Point Yacht Club & Marina offering multiple services catering to an extensive menu of boating needs. They offer dry storage both inside & outside, wet storage, transient dockage, hauling, launching, blocking, and more. A planned restaurant will ‘reportedly’ have a Test Center theme with photos, memorabilia, videos of the test boat drivers and Ralph Evinrude memorial monument at the entrance. Copy on their web site appears to support the contention that they will thematically connect to Test Center history.

The OMC Test Center opened in 1966 as the saltwater testing location for Evinrude, Johnson and OMC Stern Drive products. Following Ralph Evinrude’s death the test center was renamed in his honor.
