Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

Thanks “Mid life”. Just one time I’d like to be able to take a decent picture piccy of the stuff I do——- might have to take it out of the shop and into the light to get it looking something like!
See my grand daughter and husband “RATBAG” ( GaryStray ) are in Ocean City putting on a show with the Gieco crew —— I’ve forgotten where they’re off to for the Fourth of July——— probably Sarasota—— always reminds me of PRUETT and the wild times!
Clean out the shop day——— got so much junk to get rid of, it’ll take a couple of days to sort it all out.
Lunch out today with Jillys brother David and his wife——— David is the genuine “Last Boy Scout”—— active member of the BLUEBELL RAILWAY in East Sussex for the last ten years. I have Saturday free. Then out to lunch Sunday——— life gets tedious don’t it?

Now I know I can piss people right off without really trying——- but I looked back and couldn’t find anything untoward, Maybe the thread has run its full course and it’s time to back off for a while ?
wish I could tell you there’s exiting times ahead—— but life’s only as exciting as you make it.
Will be trundling to the car boot this morning——- then to the scrapyard—— not much more exciting than watching paint dry in reality——- but, it’s better than staying home watching breakfast TV from the recliner ! I have never, not even once in my life watched television in a morning——- life’s too short to waste it watching bloody stupid idiots who never had a job in their lives, but think they know everything!

Was meant to be a p1 race in Labuan Malaysia 2 weeks ago but went all quiet?
We still have 2 P1 boats in Singapore

Asif was with Craig and Mark sorting out all the boat mods for next year——- safety cells and V8s etc——- Then there’s the ten boats for Malasia——- as well as the India deal. UK. Is the only one that’s gone off line, so can’t tell you what’s happening there.!
Will talk to Craig this weekend and find out what the score is WW.

...Tomorrow morning, on our back patio/dock, overlooking the water, I will be having French Toast topped with generous amounts of butter, 100% real maple syrup, along with some piping hot joe. The wife prefers simply white confection sugar on her French Toast. There. That should keep you for a day.

OK Fuji—— I read you, but, I can’t help but feel, “ THE TIME HAS COME “ like the walrus said ! Have to find that new road to travel, Brownie——- Bentz———Ron Hill——- they all wrote books about boat racing and the road to nowhere.
Been “too busy” all my life, to stop and smell the roses———let alone sit still and put pen to paper and relate to the world what a great life I’m having, let it roll into a hard back version. Hells teeth——- why drive a cheap old Chinky car when you you can shimmy down the highway in a White, 450 Hybrid Lexus F Sport—— so I stopped for a while, took time out, and did just that. Have to tell you, one of my better judgements!
Always intended to write about the boats I ran, the people I met, the places I’ve been, the food that I ate and my hungry companions.
The children I raised and the “ ladies in my life” ( every time I hear James Taylor sing that song, I think maybe I should settle down).
Problem has always been ONE MORE TIME, with everything I ever did, was never content to just sit back and enjoy where I was at, that moment in time——- everything I had and did had to be the best—— that’s is until I saw something better.
Loved doing the “TRICKS” thread on Scream and Fly——— never thought it would get right up there with Hot Singles and Life at Lake X———- but it trundled along and reached the half million. Now I’m at the crossroads——— decision time——- what to do——-stop and get off ? Or continue to babble on .
Ill sleep on it for a week or so—— see where the dice fall.

Funny thing about Americans and bacon——- twould appear that ALL Americans like streaky bacon “Frazzled”———this has spread worldwide, even on to cruise ships and posh hotels.
Me myself along with most brits prefer BACK BACON——— either smoked or green ! I do like the “FRAZZLED” occasionally———— but if your doing a”FULL ENGLISH” you need the best back bacon, medium sliced———- WITHOUT THE FECKIN TOMAYO KETCHUP.
Only in America could you get fifty types of bacon from one little Piggy.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear,——- watched the first heat of the P1 s in Sarasota———- what on Earth are they trying to do? Four boats in line———- 75 yards apart——— rolling start, Jesus Wept—— I’ve seen more exciting racing in a housewife’s egg and spoon race ! And tiddlywinks is positively thrilling compared to P1 “RACING” at the moment !

We have the same weather as the USA right now——-95/100 degrees——- but we do have a ten mph breeze, so it’s breathable. All roads lead to the beach, and the roads are gridlocked in and around coastal towns——- good time to head inland ?
Out to lunch at a nice pub near Compton, just over the Hogs Back at Guildford.
Lawn looks like a Minnesota wheat field that just been cut——- no point in watering——— a waste of water and unless it’s on twenty four seven it’ll turn to hay anyway.

Full Marks to the WITHIES INN, at Compton, good food, but £200 for Sunday lunch for four was a bit strong I thought.
I usually take my visiting American friends there——— it’s a quintessential English pub——— lots of oak beams and low ceilings——— nice well kept gardens, in the middle of a wood, hasgreat beer from the local brewery.
Was around the hundred mark so we opted to eat inside———- but it was stall a tad warm.
Just about to have a looksee at what’s going on in Sarasota—— wasn’t exactly thrilled by any of yesterday’s action———— was all a bit of a parade, more than actually Racing ?

Nice exhibition run, but it could never be called a race——- unless it was a one horse race—— boat could run forever at that sort of speed !
Still, I suppose it sounded nice !

Holy crap on a cracker...£200 = $263.68 in US dollars. That is $66.00 a head. I hope that there was some excellent elixir included with that meal.....:eek: You know just the other day you were complaining about how much everything was costing. I was going to write you back an tell you that all the new dog expenses and the replacement tooth are nothing compared to what it would have cost you had you let Phill tour the Lexus Sport in your absence...
