Damn, saw the "Deep" after outta Nam and now Germany. There was a stadium event with 4 bands, general admission, no reserved seat. First in get the best seats! Opened the doors at 2pm, and simple picked up my feet and carried in! But there was "bring it in what ya want" Coolers, back packs name it. So I got separated the other 3 with me..(I had the Army Jeep as its was mine as Battalion Welder) but close me. So I got 2 Germans along side me that didn't speak English. They start dragging out bottles of wine and pointed left.."pass it down". Never saw that bottle again but soon here comes another from the right! IT never stopped! Then the bowls/pipes with Hash start doing the "rounds" And STILL "pass to left" as soon another coming! So (loved those Germans!)...everyone went home with a diff M/T bottle, and some one else "pipe M/T". I was pretty well wasted by 6PM, and only the 2nd band done. 3rd in and later was Deep at 10PM! That woke me up! Still forget how the hell we made it back to Base..but a great time as first band saw after Nam!

As two weeks Christmas, and a 69 Nam vet then Christmas? Never saw any shows as in the "outback" but the people take time out THERE life, for us/them?
Best "gift" you can EVER share in life is making a tough time many that hellhole with a bit of caring, and laughter for a bit. God Bless Bob Hope...and "thank you".

Never gets old! Love the Bass..(friend mine here plays a 5 string Bass in a band), and I'm although not that good on drums, still gotta "bang on something"!
