Begging your Pudding Pilgrim——— it’s one of those places I’ve only heard about in hushed tones like “Ammityville” and Timbuctoo”—— Pussygalore and Enoughalready !

Got back home finally just gone seven——- message on the answerphone——- my old friend BILL MOULLAND died. He was a legend in the wood turning world——- he could take a chunk of timber, stick it in the lathe, create a masterpiece! Lathe, chisel and wood became as one——- he could make a wood lathe talk. Taught me everything I know about wood turning, but I could never be the master of the craft the way he was.
That just about put the lid on a piss poor day——— not many of us left anymore——- and we’re getting scarce !
Better knock out the few ideas I got while the goings good——- just never know who’s going to cop their clogs next !
Meant to answer all your posts and get things flowing, but going to have to call it a day, it’s all gone a bit flat——- let’s see what tomorrow brings.
Welcome Home
Perhaps when you recover you can pump some adrenaline into this site and get the heart beating again. It has been a long and boring ten days since you departed.
Did I hear Yamaha bought Merc and told them not have 2 strokes or engines as big as theirs?
I guess the 425hp yam makes thats true?
Whoa there Johnno———— Cosworth was long gone and in a retirement home long before the rotories came along.
Having said that John—— I seem to remember the rotories all had” sit up and beg” tunnels——- wasn’t one of them an old Scottie? Maybe I’m just getting old and forgetful!
Needed a big hit when I got home last night——- my posh whisky bottle was empty——- had to settle for a Jack Daniels, it hit the spot, but didn’t have quite the same “PNACHE”.
Jesus Wept Pilgrim——- you’re forever “HEARING THINGS”——— that selective hearing of yours will one day give you a headache or a tumour, but you do get the Kewpie Doll for the biggest load of bollocks in today’s paper !
Betcha a pound to a pincha won’t be long before we see a1,000 HP “OUTBOARD”———- Kamatsu are making a special all electric fork lift as a lifting aid (least, that’s what I hear).
you do know there are Yam parts in some Mercs and vice versa for engines below v6 and as Lars pointed out yam v6 4stroke black painted with Merc decals a few years ago.
Yam now have the highest HP engine and the heaviest
OK Pilgrim——- sounds impressive—— but I’m a reform ! Turned to religion years ago, then gave it up for lent and somehow never went back——- guess I’m just a lost soul.
Anyway, what’s all this got to do with the price of a gallon of electric gas at my local Shell station ?

Got something for you pilgrim——— belongs to a Russian oligarch ——- cost four hundred million and is in the dock at Cartegena for repairs ! You got any ideas ?
it will get noticed, also running for the ugliest yacht every made
Yam just dropped a 425HP v8 on the market, thats what I was on about.
First time in over 40 years a Merc wasnt the biggest outboard on the market( with a vertical crank that is)
Me myself don’t really see what this is all about Pilgrim——— forty years ago, OMC were claiming 450 hp from three and a half litres——— then four litres and secret sh-t horsepower——- then 450 from unmeasurable rotors———-So what’s the big deal ?———isn’t there a socking great big “CADDIE”truck engine out there pulling some 700 HP?
Why shout about something that was around forty odd years ago, except with more Gee-Gees ?
And they said I- was bending the rules with the little old Cossie.
Ah well—— as they say in Southwater——-Sh-t happens !
