No worries mate. They have multiple classes and one does run the E-Tec's and Opti Max's. The guys I knoew were running in the modified/open class where you could do pretty much what ever you wanted. They were starting w/3.3 liter Ficht/E-Tec blocks and then modifying them. They basically scrap all the direct injection stuff and then run standard style pistons w/custom heads, EFI and ignition systems w/everything being tunable which the OEM version is not.
Last I talked to Darren Spencer (again, he pretty much owned everything) he was pulling about 380 HP's out of his combo and pulling two skiers at 7500 non stop and it was living.

i happened to speak to darren by chance the other week reguarding an lighting case for my evinrude, hell of a nice guy even though what he was selling wasnt what i was after he was very helpful and more then willing to lend some advice !
said they started with a 200hp block and worked up from there, his from the same state as me in australia didnt realise it was his labsport boat though, the thing is an animal

Good going to beat on it some more today in the salt. Got a little over 5 hours on it. Runs 100 at 5700 with the 34. 4300 is a good cruise about 80mph 6-7 mpg depending on load. Been fun
