Congrats on that purchase Mr. Right Thats a great boat I enjoyed running next to it but rarely in front of it! Very fast ride!! can't wait to help Gee With his next project! enjoy it and be safe!
For the other HST owners. I have noticed that in the main floor there are no drainage holes going into the center hull bilge, and water does accumulate under the back seat in the corners especially. Has anyone made holes or designed a drainage system for this area that drains into the main bilge area? When I redo the floor on mine this winter that will be one of my jobs.
Also, those who cut out holes over the sponsons to remove the foam. What did you use to seal them back up?
Thanks
mine didnt have anything left. the sponsons were open for light storage and weight reduction. just need to make a few supports for strength
Your mean the area just under the rear bench? It's not possible to drain this because there is a step in the bottom/pad. So thats where all the water gathers...
My AE-21 has sub-floors in the sponsons. I have a floor over the centerpod which runs all the way to the back of the fuel tank. There is a section cutout at the transom (aft of the tank) that reaches to the bottom of the centerpod for a bilge pump access. The floor over the centerpod and tunnels is about 4" higher than the subfloor in the sponsons. Any water in the boat will runoff into the sponsons and drain through a hole at the rear of each sponson subfloor.
If nothing changes it looks like i will be the new owner of a 1990 hst! the boat is currently in merctech's hands but i should have it in a few weeks if everything goes according to plan! it will have a built carb bridgeport!!!
i just got one its going to be while but ill join in the fun soon
