Hey Mike

Hey Mike, that is quite an accomplishment!
Nice job Mike! Look forward to meeting you at the "No Name Event"
Thanks everybody!!!! I am still amazed myself. I remember when I was building this boat, many people on this forum swore up and down that a v22 with a stock 250 wouldnt even be close to 80, but I guess i proved them worng with a 225. Next Goal is 85, lets see what it takes to get there....
Mike
80 is already amazing. No way 85 stock. The next 5 aint gona come cheap.
Mikey is you boat lighter than say Bski velocity? Why is his so much slower? I ask cause there is a velocity down here I know I could pick up cheap and its in better shape than my challenger.
GREAT! Congrats mikey,
I suppose your output is 1:75?
Is it a Mercury Racing Trophy Lab?
/Patrik
I do not know who labbed this prop to be honest, I bought it off a local guy for a beat around prop, and it ended up being the best prop that I have!
James- I agree no way am I going that fast stock, but I set 5mph goals so atleast I have something to strive for!
Vnemous-I have no explanation for why my boat runs as good as it does over the other velocities. Bski's boat also had an older 3 liter, and a 25 inch shaft. I would love to weigh my boat one of these days because it is pretty much a patatoe chip with a plywood floor LOL
I was reading some of your post about your boat. It must be pretty light if you can see the deck bouncing up and down when your out. I ve had two people 250+ standing on my deck. Im sure I could cut some weight on her.
Mikey, do you have a 19984/5 velocity? They were pretty light especially with the kevlar deck.
Yess I have an 85 velocity. I weigh 215-220 and i walk towards teh edge of the deck because it flexes so much. My boat also does not respond much to trimming the motor. I remember last year running across the bay with my dad in the boat at wot I could trim the motor in and out and it did not scrub off more then a mph or 2. I am hopefully going back at it tomoro night, if the wind isnt kickin too bad im gonna try out the new chopper.
Mike I can not really run hard into the wind, the boat picks up like a kite, but if i do manage to keep my foot in it up around 70 mph you can watch teh front deck ripple slightly with the wind, it is pretty scary to watch for the first time!
my 28 big ear chopper did a wopping 71 mph on the rev limiter but did manage to throw a monster rooster tail!!! I also verified a 78.6 mph run with my 28 trophy today so all in all it was a good night!
That must be alot lighter for sure.My 98 deck is as solid as rock.
My 94 deck is also solid. I was told the hull&deck is a 100% Kevlar+vinylester, I called Steve Stepp himself and he confirmed, he said taht he recognized the serialnumber and he made about 20 hulls that year.
