I have had 88.5 out of mine with the 1:62 gears. His is a 3.2 stroker, lots of torque and dosen't like to rev as high as a 300X. If it were me I would want the highway gears.
Wow!!!!! Great speed:cheers::thumbsup: JamesGang. Which prop? Size? Rpm?
Just thinking:confused:.......If it doesn´t like to rev as high as a 300X, in my world that makes the TM faster than the SM. As long the TM is under water it would propably be faster than the SM???
As I said...I am just thinking.

I got that speed with a Stock 14.5 x 24" - 3 blade Merc Chopper. That was jacked up running right on the edge of running out of water pressure. Pretty high, I would say prop shaft about 1.25" to 1.5" above bottom. I'm on a Stainless jack plate 5" setback and it has 7" of lift. There are some pictures of it on here a number of pages back.
The Stainless Marine jack plate--5" setback and 7" lift--is a great product! That's what I have.
Just spent some time on here trying to find my way around. All I can say is if it aint broke don't fix it. This new look may appeal to some but the old look had more on each page and was way more efficient. IMHO this needs a lot of improvement, the old format was great. Hope its not another one of those cases where you don't know what you got until its gone.
They just changed over my car forum to this format also, I absolutely hate it!!!!!!!
mine was an 87. the deck was installed poorly. I added stringers to support the transom and some side prisma braces to the sides. The seats needed some new mounts , so made them from some square stock. The back seat weighed nothing and the bottom slid out for access to the batteries etc. the floor was weak from regal so some 1708 over it and it was strong enough. great boat 63mph with an 87 yamaha on it.
I wish I had my handheld with me to get an exact number, but this was with my labbed 28 trophy, next time out I am trying the chopper!!

Keith my pickup does 63 standing on it!!!!!!!!!!
Mickey Looks like 80+ to me.
We will see what happens this week when I go back out, I would like to back it up with a reading opn my handheld as well!!!!!! The boat defiantely ran faster then it ever did before. It is amazing what new fuel filters and some new plugs will do, but I think the fact that I was alone is where the extra MPH came from.
