This is a race gathering in Europe. The boat pictured in Fuji's post has a battery disconnect on the dash. The club involved is 152 VO, google it -you will be amazed by the details in these very small electric models. I race RC boats competitively for a hobby, was easy to spot the details that stood out. These guys put on a complete replica of an old time ob race, complete diorama to compliment the racing. Very different than over here.
Robin , Im thinking your spot on , the disconnect is the dead giveaway for the Euro guys- and the attention to detail is 2nd to none.
The amount of time and effort they put into it is amazing.

Is this a case of the boat being faster than the truck,
or the truck slows down faster than the boat?

Dare I say in Florabama somewhere
If that ain’t the goldarnbest best advert for the new Dodge Ram, I don’t know what is! It’s obviously got good brakes and some serious structural integrity in the roof.
When I lived in Tallahassee, we called areas west of us LA. That guy fits right in.
Almost ashamed to say my first formal training was at the OMC training center on Miami Gardens Dr. in Miami in 1969, after this.......
As usual, you made me laugh. (I needed that today.) The marina I work for uses heavy duty thermoformed pontoon stands that are 18" square with a rounded upper surface that perfectly matches the bottom of the logs. You place one (on each side) right at the stern of the log where it's strongest and another on each side up front where the forward bulkhead is in the log. (Again, the strongest point.) This distributes the load and prevents deforming the bottom of the logs. Lord knows one doesn't want any hook in a log to scrub off speed!

Anyone know what this is and how it ran?
...the engines were a pair of highly cosmetically & mechanically modified Mercury 1500 inline sixes, altered to looked like a pair of much older white Mercury 800's. short shaft newer inline gearcases, the newer taller cowling wraps relabeled & to look like the older shorter cowling wraps, newer top covers trimmed to look like the older 800's trim, 70's power trim, paint,...the list goes on... boat was homemade...ran in the sixty's...http://www.fiberglassics.com/media/k...eeperTwins.JPG
saw this at the Mount Dora Antique Boat show a few years ago. Don’t remember all of the details other than being built from scratch. The motors were newer than they appear and included trim n tilt.
