Gotta love a cracker! Originally conceived as a waterski tow boat in CA shortly after WW2 by returning GI's. An outgrowth of the hot rod craze by the same ex GI's.
...yes, which morphed into the "SK" class of wood & glass race boats that were hugely popular in the sixties & seventies...
Several times, I have seen Crackers run in Long Beach. And these short flat-bottom boats beat the *#x^ out of the driver and passenger.Quote:

It's amazing how much tech goes into those GP sail boats not to mention the speeds. By far has to be the biggest thing in boat racing.
The GP sailboats cannot exceed the speed of the wind propelling them, correct?
