22" Velocity outboards

Maybe in a few weeks I'll do that. I'm a little busy now between work and trying to get a few of my boats ready for some up coming runs. I'll try to do it before the Romp and maybe I'll bring the Sutphen up there next year instead of the Velocity.

anybody interested in a velocity?

How much $? Post some info and pics and I'll ask around.

Hey Mike,

I re-gel coated the bottom on mine this spring. And I put on a set on trim tabs on. It rides better now. Even with just a little tab it adds a lot more stability. It was a good move, I should have done it long ago. We were out last Tues and got caught in some tough winds and 2-3's, so I put'em down half way and she stayed put. You can over tab, and it will bow steer, but that's just a matter of getting used to them.

Edward with your added bulk this year, the Velocity will ride better. You'll need the trim tabs.

My plan is not to go slow enough to ever need to use tabs :cheers::cheers: I bet they make a huge difference while going slow through the rough stuff though, Come up to the romp!!!!!!!!!!

Mike, It does help with the chop. Dave-PowerPlay and I always talk about doing the romp. What is the dates on that again? Maybe hungry hippo and I can head up there.

I will be up there saturday june 12th, and sunday june 13th. I did put some thought to putting a nice set of tabs on my boat when i rigged it, but I didnt want to have the pump in the bilge and the hydralic lines. Besides I ran low on funding towards the end of the build :o

Mike,, These 22V's seem to be a wider than most, and it seems to me that a broadside chop really upsets my passsenger...LOL The tabs really help take that away. I went with a set a Bennetts because, well, they were free...haha They are not too big. Here are a few pics.. I went a solid 1/2 inch above the bottom so it would make little rooter tails...lol

Looks pretty good :thumbsup: What types of speeds are you seeing out of that thing? I think i remember you posting 72 mph?
