Has anyone made or thought about wedges to put in the tunnes for compression??? I was thinking that they would start at about right below the driver, and be linear to about 1.5 to 2 inches at transom. Just a thought.
I think Captain Insaino was working on something related to tunnel compression but don't know if he ever actually got it done? Try PMing him.

I read somewhere they added some strakes to the pad of the AE21. Maybe that works to make it faster?
Anyway I think there is a lot more left in what you already have without making huge modifications.
You have the power to make it run. With a 300drag you should see 105-110 I guess. I dont know how heavy your hst is but it's looks nice so i assume it's still dry.
If an HST only goes 105-110 with a 300 2.5 there is something seriously wrong with it or the set up.

Mine is down til next spring...I Melted a piston....Got lookin real hard at the wiring and was like OMG!!!!!!.....Hack splice Hack splice...There were wires hidden up in there that were not hooked to anything on either end:confused:Must of removed 150 zipties...I think I pulled out enuff extra wires to rerig my 28ft pontoon!!!!!!!!...Im just goin with an Ipod/speaker...gettin rid of the stereo with remote and speakers......Removed Gauges ...Thinkin of the Bobs jackplate guage or an EGT to fill the hole...Goin to rerig this boat the right way!!!!!!!:thumbsup:Cant wait...with the weight savings and fresh motor I might even see 110 now:D

I am ready new battery and impeller my HST has not seen the water in 2 years. Happy 38th.
just ran my hst today again im happy with it ... a Full tank of gas just went cruising with the girl, and just quick bursts have no problem seeing 90mph then i let off not looking to get into something with the girl in the boat

thats to bad on the melt down i did that last year on my 200 merc on checkmate rebilt it and now steped up to an hst w merc 250 trying to get seat time and get the hang of it nows the time to start you winter project and make your changes do you have balzys boat ?
i have to ask some of you guys afetr reading most of this thread and watching a couple more videos i dont know for sure cuz i cant see my own boat run but my boat does not feel flat it feels like its aired out all the way up to 90 mph.. im still learning this hull but do you guys after you get some speed and some air in the boat actually trim back down ? to flatten it out?
