No idea where you got that one from Fuji but its still languishing under the bench. Was told by a very distinguished Swedish Lady doctor[EVA BRITT] who bought quite a number of my earlier works, never to lower the price to less than $100 —-thats when it becomes bric-a-brac. Found myself in one of my “COULD DO BETTER” MOODS .
so i did half a dozen Bugatti wheels and started fernagling who knows what ! [till its finished].
As expected nothing came of the request for a concept From Bristol. Joins the other requests that always fall flat on their face and wind up either in the bin or under the bench. CHITTY bang bang and the offshore trophy being among the latest casualties .
Fathers day ——————least said about that the better. Well Sam was never going to come round on a Sunday—- Marks in florida and forgotten how to use a phone ——- Kims in Suffolk and is otherwise engaged . Boo did drop a card in late Sunday but that was it . Roll on Christmas —- lets get it over and done with.
Might have to have a garage sale or something to clear out the dross that seems to be all around .
Not in the best of moods today —- callers beware —-sex and travel is on the menu.
Start of the GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED today —- Red Arrows have been honing their skills with impressive displays of red ,white and blue smoke trails . Usual twenty helicopters per hour coming and going . Roads all around the village gridlocked most of the day .
Me myself will give it a miss this year —— still recovering from the Bristol Reunion . Find i need more sleep and the energy i had has long gone .
dont think i will be attending many more events —-the old motors just about wore out.
Thinking more and more about semi-retiring.

I became a member of the K7 100mph Club . Only the 9th person in history to be awarded one. I can remember actually crying when i was told i was a recipient.
Insignificant little badge really, BUT WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD TO ME . its called a gold star whereas in fact its BRASS.
I tried several times [unsuccessfully] before i actually made it.
Rig was a Scimitar tunnel i think, but it could have been a 16’ molinari ——was a long-long time ago. Took all the family up to Windermere for four or five days for the “SPEED WEEK” .

Hi John I watched it a couple of days ago as he melted it into a globular mass. I think its designed to run (maybe) for a very short period of time with no load.

These sport car enthusiasts have a large social media following. One way to introduce their fans to boat racing is, to give these guys (and others like them) a public relations thrill-ride. Let them broadcast the thrill experiences to their fan bases.Quote:

Case-in-point. You mentioned earlier the Bristol reunion. At Bristol in 1973, after the boats took off from the starting dock, I stayed (by myself) on the dock. Whilst everyone else (including spectators) was looking vertically downward on the race action, I was at the race drivers’ horizontal level. I witnessed Renato, Tom, Bob and Cees flying towards the turn buoy & me. I could see through the tunnel to the lower-unit.
Similarly doing prop changes in the middle of Lago di Como — “Bob pull the kill switch plug out” —let the Kid do it on a hot engine. Bob Spalding would use my boat as a reference point for turning, or go screaming by looking down at the portable RPM instrument. I was where current Video Cameras need to be placed. Viewpoints Near the Action. See the faces/helmets and get close to the speed and boat spray.
I am still baffled, why video production teams do not visualize the significance of, placing cameras near the water’s surface & inside the course near the turn buoys.

George and Maryka have a house near TORREY PINES—— overlooking the ocean—- Maryka is nearly 80 years on now . Still manages to compete in her 65foot Swan around the Catalina area.Quote:

BOTH George and Maryka are keen golfers —- George plays regularly with Phil Micklesham . I also heard the fees there are eye watering. Played there once [not very well im afraid]. This Friday at Goodwood —all the old bike racers helped Wayne onto his championship winning Yamaha—-gave him a push and sent him up the hill. Not bad for someone who is paralysed and in a wheel chair.?

No sir don’t recall that name but then again there were so many racers there in those days is there still are you just didn’t get to see everybody sometimes you were too busy watching the spectacles in the infield.
