Wonder why such a dinky skeg?
It's twice the size of ocean pro skeg we were stuck with for 30 yrs.
ive been 105 with the m2 with no nosecone and an epoxy torque tab. I needed very large diameter and engine height in the nose bleed section to get the huge case out of the water.
Is boat size/weight and bottom Vee/Tunnel configuration a dictator of the style of lwr unit that is optimum?
You should have waited for the new 3000 hp yamaha!!!

does any company make a Rex marine type oil tank custom bracket? the one that they supply is pretty bla looking
I spoke with the guys at Titus, there work looks great but again is that the way to go?, we mounted the motor and its definitly going to get moved, but for now I have to run it and see whats going on, and then start making decisions, this is definitly new territory going white.....
Looks great joe
Project looks to be moving along nicely and a 946lb hull weight must have been a pleasant surprise. I would think cooling the BRP 300 with an external water pickup would make short work of water pressure and cooling concerns and allow you to raise the motor as high to the sky as you want to chase 90mph. Are you really going to keep the 18" setback bracket that was on the boat? If you send the lower unit out to JC or Titus to be modified will that void your warranty? Will using an external water pickup void your warranty? Will adding an epoxy or welded torque tab void your warranty? You might be better off just going over to the Florida gang's Sporty swap out and keep the M2 BRP case in the closet for if/when you need warranty work. No cone cost, no torque tamer cost, no external water pickup cost, and no fat mama gearcase bullet to push around.
