Mike and Bob Hewes made a deal with Paul Allison, and I got to race one of the first Allisons in S. Florida. Brook and Ronnie Russell raced a 15' with an 800 with some success. I even ran the 13' with a 1000 in the 'Sandy Shoes' with predictable results----My cousin, Bob Lanham, was the manager at 'Hewes' and I worked in the shop with Danny, Bruno, Shaffer, Oliver, and Bobby Ridgell. I saw Bobby for the first time in 46 years at the reunion in Jupiter!!!
Those were great times to be racing in South Florida
