It would take a dedicated exhaust fix to get to 200 ps hp. The reed front half and extra main bearings is half the equation. Those deflectors on the pistons are of no help either.

Thank you Captain. It would be cool to figure it out if it wasn't to hard. After all the motors I've had. Looking at the inline on my Vector is just trips my trigger.
As you know they made a tons of these. I'm amazed to see how many guys have a tremendous affection for these engines. It has been a great experience to share there knowledge and experiences. It's been fun.
Charlie,
Before I forget. I want to apologize if I high jacked your post. My ideas and enthusiasm
got the better of me today. I can delete or move if this is a party fowl.

Can someone explain those little things sitting just in front of inline six carbs please. Do they direct air into the carb or something totally different? What happens if you remove them?
Wondering if any L6 prototype loopers where done based on the L3.
Could have gone either way on order, triple over triple 123-456 as T2, or alternating 135-246 as T1.
If you're building a new block.
Look up Dick Austins Looper Beast...absolutely an amazing build start to finish. A lot of "motor builders" that are actually just "put togetherers"...Dick actually built a motor.

Yeah those are wild. I was thinking factory Merc new generation tower of power. Would have more displacement too.
Spray fixes everything
The adi transfer ports are .045 Lower than an xs, which will kill top end rpm. Just picked up a 90 to port. I'm going to put the transfers .010 less than the xs, and probably go the same exhaust height as the xs. This thing with efi will have more bottom end torque with a common plenum intake than the stone age carbs would ever have, and I may even put the block in the press, I'll try that on a junk block first, and going with hi domes, compression will help the tork problem, and also going to focus on raising the crankcase compression. But this engine will also have spray
Tweak the prop a bit? There’s always a faster prop
