Having been involved in a fuel and weight racing class before in national event setting . More times than not , they would wave everybody past the fuel check and weigh everyone after the first qualifying run . Second run they would check both . You had to claim what fuel you were running on your tech card . When you would pull up , if you had a petcock on the regulator , you open it , turn the pump on till they had an adequate sample . If not , they put a long tygon hose in your gas tank , put their thumb over the end and go pour it in a beaker , drop in a hydrometer , cross reference your fuel , tech card and their book and send you on your way . They would only check you after the third shot if you improved your position in the field. After that , you were done , unless you were protested .
Pretty dumb to take samples , leave em on a table with your name on em , then "test them later" at their discretion , without you present . Actually it should never leave your sight . If they didn't funnel every racer thru a tech area and test it then and there , then it's a bogus claim ... at least in my eye's .
Bud , that meter sounds like a real POS ... swirl the air bubbles out .. blow out the plates between samples .. low battery gives erroneous reading ... oil tends to move the meter ..... Pffttttttttttt
