Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

Continueayed with the two offshore concepts-------however they turn out, one things for sure-----both are built out of beautiful figured English oak----------this is the stuff that you have to polish for upwards of 100 years before you get a decent "Patina"
It all started when Mark asked if I'd do him a decent desktop piece, binned a couple of the first attempts before sending him a half tidy concept which was looked on with disdain and a "best you can come up with" sort of look, so I'd better pull out all the stops on this one.
First one has the four stern drives-----? Number two will have a pair of Arneson/Twin Disc drives, as the boy has spent half his life with those things, I think it's kinda appropriate that his desk top piece should be something along those lines.
i got all day to sketch and cobble------see what transpires eh !?

We have a thing called the Glastonbury Festival which takes place every year in the South West of England. Tonight I switched on the TV and lo and behold there was Barry Gibbs, last surviving Bee-Gee singing his heart out. Last time I saw him was on a Pan Am flight from London to Los Angeles in 1971. The four of them were traveling "cattle class" and carrying a shed load of kit.
Two weeks later I headed down the road to New York to see a gathering of folk singers and musicians at a site called "WOODSTOCK"--------- flower power was about to be launched.
A week before I had previously watched a fat kid with glasses thumping three sheets out of a piano at the Hollywood Bowl-------he was the supporting act to THE EAGLES ,his name was Elton John.
World has changed somewhat in the last forty odd years!
Made up a solid transom for the pair of Arnesons-------will make it a bolt on,.
John Schubert is going to have to put the finishing touch to this one, i have too much time invested in this one to screw it up at the last! Sorry to dump this on you JOHN ------we can both sign it off!
Still no sign of Rons missing twin rig, looks like I'll have to cobble another one together.

Mama Cass day---------Monday, Monday------just love that day------- feeling a bit nostalgic today. Must be all that festival music.
Weather turned to worms middle of last week and looks set to continue being shi--y for the next week------still, can't complain, we did have a couple of weeks of great sunshine which was a bonus for an English summer.
Left shoulder is coming along nicely----- may be a few months labour left in the old dog yet, spent most of yesterday morning in the shop and an hour in the afternoon, quite pleased with that.
Have decided to spend a bit less time in the shop, don't like being on my feet for long periods, gives me backache which in turn gives me a stoop--------makes me feel like Quasimodo walking through a swamp!
Never did make it to the scrap yard Saturday-------simply ran out of time, busy doing stuff and next time I looked the morning had gone-------blasted time thief been at it again. You have to keep your eyes peeled the whole time, the buggers so sneaky. We're already over half way through 2017, did anybody notice ? Or is it just me?

How is your Molinari elbow doing? Did any of those guys ever send you all the model props that were promised?

Hey Bob,
New doctor at the surgery finally listened to what I had to say--------lifted the driving ban ----but not until I rolled both elbows on his glass topped desk. Never had anything to do with my elbow, was a torn shoulder ligament !
Never did get a single prop from any of the R/C boys-------guess they must have decided to hang on to them.
Picked up a crucible at the car boot sale sometime back, decided to cast my own ( only way I can afford them).

Jackie, ever hear of Luna Hobby? I know absolutely nothing about them. They seem to have these propellers and more... You will have to research them.

Those are the things Fuji--------little whizzers that fit on the end of the leg------right under the car plate.
Ive been done and gone a lot of research on these little buggers, oh yes, they're in plentiful supply, in almost any size. Problem is, you need to be in gainful employment earning big bags of gold at the end of the shift, OR, Rich parents, Win the lottery. Jump on the social bandwagon---------or go to the local car boot sale / flea market and hope you come across a sack of old props that some old model boatbuilders wife has just thrown out because the old boy turned his toes up. Remember the old adage---NO SUCH THING AS A FREE MEAL----------same thing with titchy props, if you do a quad installation that requires four props---------be prepared to pay a hundred bucks ! ( unless you go plastic)
Never seen such an awesome display of R/C props anywhere Fuji------why show just one picture of props when you can show seven collections--------no doubt about it FUJIMO--------you are the main man.
