I got planes ,like Concord, and spitfire, .race cars, like Bentleys and Alfas and Duesenbergs race bikes like Brough Superior And Norton ! If you ever get a half chance to visit BROOKLANDS-------take it with both hands--------the sheer scale of the operation is mind blowing but I promise you will come away in a daze. Busy as a beaver at the minute but I've got ambition and I will get back to you?
Stood next to one of the truly great legends of motor racing history AN INDY DUESENBERG------actually got a piccie of me touching this masterpiece--------had a long discussion with the curator about Gary Cooper and Mauri Rose and realised the guy didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Turned out the engine was missing, but was currently being rebuilt (which I very much doubt)
Right up there was the crown prince of the whole motorcycle world. A J.A.P. Engined Brough Superior with a Brough sidecar-------looked like the day it came out of the showroom. Shudder to think of the value of that outfit----------more history attached to that marque than the rest of the bikes in the world put together.
spent five non-stop hours at BROOKLANDS and still only touched on the fringes.
Dont worry, got hundreds of pickies and dozens of stories to tell about this one!

Just a leather hat and a pair of goggles to stop the flies getting in your eyes !
Worlds first purpose built race track------men like Campbell and Cobb had their own lock up garages and their own resident mechanic.

All in all, it turned out to be one of the most interesting and exciting days of my life !
If you got any questions for me------better make it quick, before I forget where I actually went!
Even at my age I can still be surprised !
Very strange, the fact that not one source of information has broadcast a "Missing List "of the London fire victims-------I have a nasty feeling in my bones this is going to become a political issue and the government is going to take the fall .
something has not been right about this from the beginning-------I dislike politics being used as a tool where tragedies are concerned.
Here of course there's a huge melting pot of trouble and tragedies, colour and creeds, poor people and Rich landlords and poor tenants.
So factual that Hemingway and Arther Millar could not have dreamed up this particular plot.
Last reliable count of the dead was 27 and rising, with expectations in excess of 100, make of it what you will. I can only see a powder keg, but I sincerely hope I'm wrong !
Typical of uk council housing is the scam of who is in them
The old pol tax was going to fix that but...
It's that FECKIN old P.C. Curse again Pilgrim!
In my experience low or no income housing winds up in the hands of government. Owners of this kind property can quickly find themselves in a financial death spiral. Rental income can't keep up maintenance and regulatory issues.
well I have to tell you , politics have come thundering into this tragedy in no uncertain terms .
Would not be at all surprised if the government doesn't fall!
Roll call tonight is 30 dead, with still no true figures to speak of.
There is an undercurrent here I can't explain-------like there's about to be an eruption of epic proportions--------something is very wrong!
Went to the Cass Foundation, one of the worlds great art museums covering six acres of some of the most interesting pieces of sculpture I've ever seen. Look it up on the dot-dot, I promise you, it's well worth a visit.

Just got hold of Craig, had a fourth and a second over at stPetes in the P1 series.
Two more races tomorrow-------needs to up his game a little------but I'm sure he'll be ok on the day.
In my professional opinion the progress of that fire was totally wrong. I have never seen a high-rise fire behave that way in all my 32 years in the Fire Service.
True, but London's Fire Department has historically been known for handling difficult fires. For those guys to lose a whole building like that there had to be a major flaw in the building's fire protection systems. Fires burn up not down.
The LFB are not allowed to go into a burning building
They hose it from the outside.
Having done my fire cert for working on megayachts and offshore rigs where you have to go into the hot box, the instuctors always told us that a cook or engineer on a boat has live fire training and the local fireman dont
Flammable exterior seemed to just run. Looked like foam with thin exterior clad of some type. Might have called a water bomber when it started to get away but darkness set in .
Now there are reports that the death toll has reached 58, but it's not an official figure------some suggest the figure will be well over 100. What's wrong with issuing a figure of the fallen and adding to it as you know for certain. It's all very odd. There are much deeper happenings than I have figured out yet.
one thing for sure Theresa May will not survive this---------she'll be gone inside this month-------trouble is , who is there to replace her ?
Trump is a scholar and a gentleman compared to Boris the Barbary Ape Buffoon. Britain would be in anarchy inside six months should he ever try for the leadership.
We are not in good shape at the minute !
Was invited to a Venison Roast last night by my friend Toby---------Never bloody happened did it!
Couldnt get it on the BARBIE, so he took the carcass to his local butcher and swopped it for 200 beef burghers?
