(Me and my damn storys again!)..Well I'm glad we back in the 70's, took the "torch", from the parents the 50's, the Chain, and ran it up a "notch". I remember when the Thursday nite drags started, at Blarneys. Do ya have any clue, the days missed work Friday?..as went up there Thurs after off work, 3pm, 50 mile ride to the lake house..PLAN to ride back, do work! at 7am? HA!:DQuote:

Back then, middle 70's, had the fastest boat the 'Chain"..SS17 XS, built by Bobby Switzer..lived up the river from us. "J" block, and worked over .."Ralph's Marine", then only in the north Chitown burbs. He told me, after melting a piston, gave me a new J block...had money then, cared less. More is better! Told me, it should put out 165 HP.
Then, later 70's, Bobby Switzer comes up the channel. The dude next to us, had a GL20, the new out 200, V6 Rude. So Bob floats in..The NEW, GL21, with the then, new, 235 Rude. Sucker fresh out the mold. He was with the wife.."great "lady", and think then, he told us, go for a ride. I REALLY wanted to jump in, but took a pass, let land lubber friends, .."RIDE":eek:
Came back, smiles all around, girls hair, still "pinned back".:p:D:thumbsup:
BUT, that was the end of my "Fastest boat"...days:mad: But I was fortunate next.."crazies"..and always a ride, the new "rockets".
BUT..my point here, is if ya didn't know it, somehow, that old .."Torch, my parents, and the crazies, back then..(dad hard a Barrel Back C/C, back then, have old movies him, Bro, a 20H, 8 foot Hydro..every W/E, "the lake":thumbsup:

I remember WAY, back when, cable came out...then the new MTV. Golden Earring came on, the orig vid! Saw first, a road trip to Wisconsin, see a friend/wife. Gf with me. They had to go some dinner thing, and we were crazy old HS friends. MANY, wild parties, the "Chain of Lakes". They take off, cold now in WIS..."said start a fire the fireplace ya want, wood in back..dunno when we will be back".
Had the sleeper couch unfolded, for us. right in front the fire place. I stoke it, set on fire, and me and the GF, start "fooling around", the fold out!
Well...I forgot that "dampner thing", the chimney. So we are hot and sweaty, and the smoke alarms start going off!
Whole house is now smokey, get the fire under control..the tube was on.."Radar Love!
