No they didn't Pilgrim, started from scratch-------both agreed it should run on oxygen with a ceramic and carbon block--------idea of that was to hold the central crank rigid ! Primary cranks were flexible and would be allowed to dance about !?

Decided on a swirl finish on the boat--------one of the best mounts ever, a set of brass bevel gears, super smooth, ------and that Mercrudjon ! . Wonder what sort of gee gees that thing pulled ?
Maybe one of the old guys from Lake X still has the spread sheets.

Anybody got either a cure or a relief remedy for a claw fist ? Blasted arthritis finally caught up with me and started giving me "Gyp "
Lost a lot of sleep last night with the aggravation------any suggestions ? I'll listen to anybody!
Jackie I have all three types of arthritis... psoriatic, rheumatoid and osteo PLUS dysbaric osteo narcrosis (pressureized bone death, from 2400 hrs plus under water on scuba)and I have some suggestions.
Stay away from red meat, any foods on the Gout list and alcohol. Life gets boring ha!:(
Do not do repetative exercises.....try isometrics.
I am not going into meds as I am a walking drug store BUT I still do construction with my guys daily....I am use to the pain but have
a hell of a time with limited joint movement!
Hope this can be some help......Gary:D
Oldboatman, was that just diving or being bent damage?
Thanks a bunch Gary------so if I read it right, no lobster, no red meat !
So I guess "Surf-n-Turf" with a glass of CC7 is not recommended.
But it's ok to have Cabbage, cauliflower, Carrots and the like.
Im in danger of ending it all by throwing myself off a thick pile carpet !
Cherry juice is good for arthritis. And the gout also.....Must be very tart....I have had success with my gout drinking it daily. Warm water soaks may give some relief also. I get stiffness in my hands also.
Jackie Not sayin ya need to give it all up.....just back off a bit. lol I save up my drinkin for the boat racing with my team mates( drag boat I sponser) and WOW what a life change from a half gal biweekly! Gary
I did shipwreck photography with archeologists for over 25yrs. Many hrs in water breathing compressed air(even shallow) causing a build up of nitrogen in the long bones. This results in bone end death. When I stopped the constant diving the bone ends started repairing but the problem is that it also causes bone spurs. Sponge divers got it also from long hrs in shallow depths. I also have over 170 dives over 150ft but this was not the problem as I did all my decompression stops and time plus. The chances of sport divers having this problem is almost nil and it is not well known or advertized. Knowing this I still would have done what I did but would have watched my accumed time! Now I just play with boats on the surface as
I did when I was young. Gary
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Gary----------you have made me feel so much better--------I realise now what wonderful shape I'm in. I'm definitely going to live until I die. ,!
Will definitely skip the two steps into the shop tomorrow--with great gusto, ------but not until after the car boot sale, dammit it's Thursday already--------------you know what ! I think there are at least two Thursdays in every week.
Could stand it no longer, the mess,------ it had to go. Took the Stanley knife and started on the workshop Floor Axminster --------after two hours I had lifted about a third--------rolled it into a nice little roll and placed it next to the dustbin----------FECKIN dustbinman refused to take it, I pay his bloody wages for crying out loud------ungrateful little sh-t doesn't deserve the job. Well there goes his sodding Christmas tip, he can come cap doffing and carolling--------he gets bugger all this year!
Shop looks better already--------will have another go Friday, see if I can lift the rest. Tedious line of work, two hours was plenty for me.
So Gary, you reckon it's ok to just have 8 ounce steak and half a glass of CC7 and just have a little bit of arthritis and gout-discomfort?----------reminds me of the kid who asked if it was ok to just use his left hand and wear glasses ?
PLEASE Jackie.....enjoy life to the max ( BTW I would say you have lived a lot of mens dreams)! I was just lettin ya know what has been workin for me.
Don't forget that I am almost the worst case and I am trying to stay out of a wheelchair. You are just having a "flair up" as my doc calls it and it most likely is weather related also. So have a nice steak and a drink and enjoy! Gary
Powerabout I did everthing that other divers do and don't have DON. I always put a safety factor in my dive tables. There are commercial divers with a lot more time down than I have..... not everyone has this problem that dives as much as I did. My arthritis most likely has made my condition a lot worse as I was told that some divers may have DON and not know it! Gary
