Opc 07
Just to Add to Andrew post. There will be OPC racing in 07. As of right now I have been working on a 3 race schedual for the summer for the SST 60 and 90 boats (SST75 CLASS) with Doug. He has been very helpful. We have been included at Rideau Ferry and Deseronto is a possiblity. As for the Fv calss I'm not sure the interest is there...we can't show up with one or 2 boats....If you want to be included you could pre-register that way we know you are coming and to be very honest to pay 50-100 in advace as a registration is not a lot of money. I am working on some promotional and marketing so who knows maybe we will have some incentives for the classes involved.
Now for all running in the sst75 class please send me over all your contact information and a current e-mail.
I will also be asking for any photos you may have as well I will be putting a web site up in the next 8 weeks, so I need content!!!!
One last thing. I am serious!! I have commited to buying a boat as well so I will be running this class sst75.
Pleas feel free to e-mail me your info and your intentions on running next year

Are you talking to the SST45 guys?

Also, will you be at the TORC meeting Saturday?

Fv
So how many FV guys/ boats showed up to the waterford event?
Can someone e-mail me the rules and saftey equipment needed for racing?
I have an old booklet from '97 but I'm sure the rules have changed!
I know that myself and my friend were trying two get two boats in for FV but when the one boat was finnished we had know idea what we needed for saftey and ran outa time!
I know cfb's patiences are probably running thin with FV but I think it's the coolest class and I hope we can pull together and get in.:)

There were 4 at Waterford, 3 made it on the water. TORC was happy with what was put on considering it was a first outting. Several of our classes only have a few entries at this site so 4 boats was not an issue to use. The initial setup didn't work well for FV, so they talked and set it up slightly different for Sunday. Assume they liked what they did but have never got any real feed back really. The boats or drivers were substantially different in speed. But that's to be expected when you have new drivers and veterans and only a few boats. Vets have to learn to play with rookies until they get up to pace.
Personally hope to see more FV and OPC's around.
Rules... I think Don Whittington has them all.

I wouldn't turn down a test ride... :) Although the FV looks scary as hell to drive. I'm planning on doing my capsule test this winter and I'm trying to line up test rides in a 1.5L inboard and a tunnel, 45 or maybe 60. If anyone wants a driver let me know. 25 years experiance in hydros and runabouts, a mix of 16 (I think, losing track) High Point/National/Divisional Championships in CBF and APBA across 4 classes :)

There is the annual convention this weekend.
There will be OPC racing next year in Ontario..we just have to finalize the schedual. Right now SST 75 is on the schedual for one event with 2 others pending.
For those of you who want fv to be entered you really will need to step up to the plate this year. After last year there is alot of concern of the same situation happening..no one showing. It takes a lot of work to organize these events so we need a commitment from everyone involved.
Anyone wanting more information on the OPC schedual and what we are trying to do please e-mail me directly at [email protected]
I would be more than happy to answer your questions
Mike

Formula V
I am the Commodore of Twin City Power Boat Association and would like to get in contact with whom ever is the contact person for the formula V person in Canada, We Just revised our rules and have added a VP class similar to the old VP 75 class we used to run, this new class would only allow motors up to 50.0 cubic inch running on 13-16 foot boats, I have more info on our Formula V and our New VP class, I wanted to see what rules you were using and see what it would take to try to put on a race somewhere with your boats and ours. Our FV class is up to 99 cu in motors on 15 foot minimum boat length and motors must be stock, we are entertaining allowing up to 115 cubic inch motors. 13 foot to 14 foot boats can run with up to 75 cubic inches at less weight. Hello all just wondering if anyone is interested in running waterford this year????
-
Mike, we likely have a better chance of running SST 60. You should get Tammy, Chris, Jim and yourself for starters.
