Now you're doing a Fujimo Pilgrim !
Over 40 years ago-------think it was either Campione or Casale, in the days when drivers took all their kids to the races, did the race bit , then got on with the important bits of the weekend !
Thanks Pilgrim, Steve Kerton reckons it was all happening at Chasewater, we certainly used to spend a shed load of time there ! Well it was his Barbie------and RV.
Mumbai, India.
CRAIG got his first outing in the P1 this morning--------after a few teething troubles he reported he was quite happy with the rig, and the set up.
Soon know just how good the set up is, its qualifying on Friday morning!
Two fifteen lap races on Saturday with a twenty lap final on Sunday------he needs to be a little more than "quite happy"--------ECSTATIC will do nicely.
Found enough alloy blocks to keep the whole of Florida in "Concept" boats for the next ten years, parted with a wallet full of paper money-------what the hell, you're only here for a short period and there's no pockets in a shroud !
Havent heard a peep from Mumbai , but read in the comics that Craig finished third in both heats today.
Well, they weren't ever going to call and tell me they finished third were they ?

Still beavering away at this piece of kit------got another six hours in the shop today------bloody good job I don't rely on the concepts to keep food on the table------
Tried to get coverage of the Mumbai race but found it impossible--------they still haven't posted the results----------don't think they did all that well or would have gotten an email!
No Craig didn't do that well-------got a one word email the boy. It said simply "Second" --------says it all!
Guess THEYLL be travelling back CATTLE CLASS, Will tell you more as soon as I know !
Did a five hour day in the shop-----got three out of the seven models I'm submitting nearly ready, just a few minor details to iron out.Attachment 368610
After just five coats of wax polish the patina is coming out already------think I got the mount spot on.
Amazing what you can do with a 200 year old chunk of English oak that held a barn up for most of that time.
Jackie..You had a good day on E-BAY today, sometimes you eat..........
Phill.
Oh yes Phill, I sold a glass top table that I gave £80 for a month ago------it made £25 ?
Sold four Ikea chairs that cost £300 for £34 ?
Fish pond was a hazard for little Lizzie so dug it up and sold it for £16 ? Compost to fill the hole left by the the fishpond £60-------- as you so rightly put it-----Somedays you eat bear !!!!
Another month, another week, another dollar-------another Concept !
Sometimes I think I'm getting along fine, even getting better, other times I realise I'm not going anywhere !
Got another two months before I have to submit the seven efforts for the client to decide whether or not I have the final commission. Was all gung ho at the onset, now I don't give a flying fart whether I get the commission or not. I'm quite happy fiddle-farting about in the shop, foraging in the scrapyard , and doing the car boot sale-------keeps the arthritis at bay and the mind working overtime.
Nearly on top of things in the garden and workshop-------done all I have to in the house------just got the shed to shelve and the tools to hang, plus put a roof over the grass cutter and the wood store!
Life is never dull around here------also have a two year old who keeps me on my toes, spring is just around the corner ------daffodils are in full bloom---- better give the Honda mower a once over, ready for the summer------and get my sorry arse out from between the sheets!
Was out and about putting shelves up and emptying boxes from 8:00 Amphisbaenia morning----by eleven I'd had enough, the shelves were all fixed. Doesn't seem to have given me much more room, but I suppose it must have.
I have seven different concepts to present to the client ------four of them within a gnats cod of completion, when I get this sudden mad fit of depression and decide to go for it.
Right out of the blue, it came to me------I know exactly what to do-------the size, the mount and the subject--------even the material!
Put a new blade in the bandsaw and loaded a pair of angle grinders with new grinding discs-------worked all the way through the afternoon, cutting, grinding, shaping. Was amazed how much I got through today------back aches like buggery, but I have that "Feel Good" factor -------don't you just love it when a plan comes together (as George Peppard used to say).
Had another good day in the shop-------made big strides--------nearly half way through one of those pug ugly slabs that has the audacity to pose as an outboard. They should be jailed for misrepresentation!
Got the main shape done for the all metal boat-------mahogany base-------speedbird mount------makes a change for me to be "Cooking with gas" all day.
Absolutely shagged out------need some overdue shuteye .
It's here again------bloody Thursday ! I swear there are more Thursdays in a month than any other day ?
Sam is taking me out for lunch and a bit of shopping-----then down to Itchenor to see if we can join the sailing club ?
She reckons your never too old to learn how to sail !
Was always too busy to learn "how" but she wants to know how to do everything including sailing?
Off to seek long lost treasure at the car boot sale this morning-------tell you if I hit pay dirt.
Bought just a couple of things I never really needed in the first place. Then a couple of hours in the shop waiting for Sam to pick me up.
After over sixty years powerboating, I finally joined a sailing club. Starts in a itzy bitsy teeny weeny rag and stick dingy, just how many more mad fits of depression do have to have before they cart me off to the funny farm?

Things are are coming together like I knew they would--------over halfway there and still cooking with gas.
