I rode this very boat many years ago just before it was decommissioned. They used them for drug interdiction in the Caribbean toward the end of their lives. One ran from mouth of the Hudson River to Key West in 21hrs, including putting in at Jacksonville for fuel. They pulled water in from intakes at the foot of the aft struts, up the struts and into a huge water jet at the transom which ran off of an LM2500 Gas Turbine. They had small diesel engines and conventional waterjets (KaMeWa I believe) for low speed hull born operations. Named the Pegasus class for the Greek winged horse.
