The v8's kind of look like etecs, have to admit brp did the colour panel part first, now they need an engine to compete.
That pulls that 34 no problem. I know u always ran smaller on the 300xs with 1.62 and I figured the R would need 34+. The 1.75 Gear needs more wheel all the big blocks go faster if u keep them down near peak power. All the fast guys with 300x prop them to peak around 6350 even though they will turn 7100.
That would be hard to swallow with a Cnc prop. Ouch.

Mercury will give him a new gearcase and prop and hub under warrantee at no charge.
No one wants to pay $20k to then loose a month of boating while getting things covered under warranty. IMO this is a one off situation thankfully.Quote:
