Nearly, it's a 220V 50 cycle Miller with a yard of resistors and bum twitching weight ------I will carry this only once!!!

Jackie: most of those foreign cars you see in the parking lots are made right here in the good old USA. I believe only the English and Swedish cars are totally imported. Glad you enjoyed Fl. and got your welder. Does it go round and round or up and down?
Same as UK John, its not the workers that cant build cars its the management that cant
Most efficient Japanese plant in the world is in the UK
Japanese have always spend huge money on market research and in most country's have permanent organizations doing it although the public doesnt usually know.
Selling what the customer wants sounds obvious but..
Yes we do have the same bloody stupid system in the UK Worlds most efficient robotical plants that use 10% of human effort------that's just to keep the status quo-----but you an bet your sweet bippy the profits go straight back to Tokyo . The Indians (ie, MUMBAI ) own Jaguar, land rover, the Germans own Rolls Royce, Cosworth and probably the rest of the motor industry-----where did it all go wrong-----did we really win WW2------we certainly didn't win the peace.
Sat in the airport in Orlando cogitating----the spot welder went through------hope it comes out at Gatwick.
Flights been called------MYGGWY J.
Always thought it went in and out with a sideways tendency when the rate of penetration reached regional areas as the electrodes achieved a high rate of activation and friction, with wagglement set to a minimum-----organisticism can be reached with satisfying ease especially if you got a top of the line MILLER G45 with ZFQ MULTI SPEED GEARBOX AND LONG GEARS------you ARE into overdrive in no time flat.
Ok peeps, back home in the land of the free everything for immigrants controlled by Herren or is it Frau? Angela Merkel who pulls the UK strings------even Cameron has to ask HER for paper to wipe his bum after taking a dump these days.
the Miller was going round the carousel when I got there along with the rest of the luggage, needed a trolley to wheel it all through customs without incident. On closer inspection, it was discovered there was a distinct lack of copper arms, rendering the whole piece of kit totally useless?
Somedays you eat bear------other days------the bear eats you.
Had a fun lunch on Wednesday before we left Stuart, Timmy Seebold and Sorg turned up at the shop for a hilarious lunch at what used to be Finns, stayed so long we had to hustle some to get to Orlando in time for the flight home.
Been too damn cold to venture forth into the workshop----still trying to catch up on much needed shut eye --------ate too much, drank too much, talked too much, spent too much -----an excess of everything except women!!!! THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIEND----WE THOUGHT WOULD NEVER END,!!
Will try and start the fun column rolling again-----even if it means scraping the barrel for the odd tale or two!! Meanwhile peeps MYGGWY.J.
It's a funny old world-----you can live a lifetime in a few short hours-----one minute it's TOP O THE WORLD MA,!! the next, the skids get knocked out from under you.!!!
Sat down for a bowl of soup on Friday-------couldn't keep the soup spoon in----tried to tell Jilly, but my lips were thick as lorry tyres and I sounded like an idiot having a fit. Twisted mouth, a bit numb, dribbled, incoherent, a bit worried to put it mildly---------in fact a bit of panic set in for a while if I'm absolutely honest.
As always Jilly was 3c's (cool calm and collected) called the doctor, 12-45 was in the surgery having a thorough, 30 mins later was in St. Richards hospital Chichester, 1-30 was having an E.C.G. 1-45 was an ultra scan on my neck----2-15 was in the tube having a brain scan,3-15 having a chest X ray 3-45 giving armfuls of red stuff. 4-00 pm consultant gave me the good news that the scan was clear and I'd had a mild stroke, will get the results Monday after analysis.
I have heard the English national health service lambasted and abused------in my humble opinion, it is the most wonderful organisation in the world, I am most grateful for the way I was looked after during my short stay.
Still talking a bit slow and thick lipped, but apparently Jilly played the hand about right, now got the right pills and potions so no damage done. Just telling you guys out there in case it ever jumps out and bites you-----it's ok to have a little stroke if you act quickly and get help-----whatever you do -------DO NOT IGNORE THE WARNING SIGNS----From one very fortunate old fart to the rest of you out there----please take care, J.
I now have lots of time on my hands----not accustomed to that-------not allowed behind the wheel of anything for four weeks------no machine work for a month------that means grand kids don't get to see Father Christmas this year. It's a small price to pay, just having a month off-------reckon I got off light------I can live with that.
My father had a stroke when he was nearly 90, but he was flight engineer in the R.A.F. on a Lancaster bomber during WW2 and made it through 36 ops over Germany so he was entitled to a stroke. Don't feel like I earned a stroke just yet a while.
One things for sure--I don't want to end up Ga-Ga, so will have to conform to regulations till things get back on an even keel. Luckily the digits have not been affected, so I can pound me old iPad to me hearts content.
Friday seems a lifetime ago since I walked the halls of St. Richards into what seemed like every department in there-------the only one I walked straight on by was the "sexual therapy" department, ( when the hell did they deem that particular branch of therapy neccessary)
Jackie, good to see you are back in blighty albeit with what sounds a bit like a hard landing!
Listen to what the medics tell you and I'm sure we can all continue to read "tales of the riverbank" for years to come yet...
Best Wishes for your recovery ..Phill.
Thanks Phill, feel a bit of a fraud really, if you had to talk to me right now, you would think I had a CC7 too many-------have to think exactly what I'm saying and slow it down------shouldn't be long before I'm gabbling nonsense once again. Have to settle down and take it easy for a day or it. J.
Many thanks Jim, was meaning to catch up with you later in the day at Tavares, meant to ask you about Kenny and maybe have a drink and a sing along but like the road to hell, I'm so full of rushing around like a blue arse fly I forget to step off the roundabout and enjoy the company of old friends for a while, was good to see you again Jim-----you look well.
Jackie, missed the boat - so to speak - and my pals.. by not attending Tavares this year. Canadian winter jumped upon us early with seasonal chores and life's necessities getting in the way of visiting with you and the other fine OFF'ers. Lousy excuse, and will try not to let it happen again.
So sorry to hear of your aggro... and Best of the British to you. Hair-up and heal-over soon, but take it bloody easy please!!! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, they say - and quite sure the effects of living a similar, fast paced life to your father places you at risk for the odd wake-up call. Now that the connection's been made, do what needs to be done so that it ends here and now. We all love 'ya, lad... even the rotary fans!
Stay the course... my best to you.
Rathmell
PS: Is your money on Hamilton tomorrow?
Can't see Mercedes allowing Lewis the title--------they will let it pan out till the last quarter----then the mysterious weedjie bug will strike in the guise of "management system" regretful shame!!!
Get well soon Jackie
Regards
Tinkerbelle
Jackie my friend. Doreen and I wish you the best in your recuperative period. Get this behind you quickly as we need you back on the golf course next year...and back in the pits regaling us all with your quick wit and wonderful stories. Also, you haven't finished the Cosworth project .......
Keep the faith......
Rich
Thank you to all my friends, Rich, Doreen, Mark, "Tinkerbelle" for all your good wishes, always thought I was "INVINCIBLE " and would go up in a cloud of steam--------(smells nicer than smoke!)
It does scare the pants off'n you when you don't have control over your faculties. I worry now about the " stinky old man syndrome"-------B.O.--------Sam bought me some C.D $100 "ANTAEUS "-----smelly-------hope to God it works, if it don't , think what a terrible waste it would be!!!
Came back from Tavares all gung -ho, with a head full of ideas-------but the shop is off limits for four weeks, Grandson Simon has a CAD program for me to try-----reckons it's a creative aid------but so's a condom and a house brick and a nut and bolt if you dig deep enough.
Havent told the family yet what happened------there's a couple of birthdays this weekend and I don't want to upset anyone, and it wouldn't achieve anything. I'll maybe tell 'em in another week or so when I'm totally lucid and completely over it.
Grand kids will have a field day extracting the urine, which is as it should be, life should be a laugh, to be taken seriously, only in dire emergency and then, only in small doses. There I go, rambling on again , about nothing in particular. Seems like I never had enough time to jot things down before I got busy, with things to do, now I have to go off at a tangent, get another dimension, find a different comfort zone, maybe pester the daylight out of you all,
7am on Sunday morning-----time to get up-----been lying here cogitating long enough.
Jackie: Sorry to hear about your situation but glad to hear everything is working out well. Follow the doc's advice (orders) and take it easy for awhile.
Get well soon Jackie, that must have been quite a scare. You may like the CAD program once you get the hang of it. At least you can still come up with ideas while you wait for the green light to enter the shop again. Best regards,
Dave
Hi Jackie
Sorry to hear your not firing on all eight cylinders sure you will soon be back at full strength.
Great afternoon watching lewis do the business looks like Mercedes put the gremlins in the wrong car!!!
Regards Rob
Jackie - Holy smokes, you scared the crap out of me. I just had Iris read what you said about your symptoms. She said, Thank God you didn't do what many of us Old Farts would have done...that is, to pretend like everything was OK. You did the right thing and, consequently, we still have "Old Cranky" around to entertain us :). Our thanks go out to Jill for her quick action. You know that we love you. - Steve and Iris
Stavros, felt a bit like piddling my nappy ( diaper)--- There are those that say I talk dribble most the time. Most of the time I have it semi under control, first time I ever felt incontinentalike.
Jilly was amazing------five minutes from lunch table to examination table. In 3hours flat I'd had the whole nine yards.
Three failures apiece Rich-----on balance I'd say Lewis had the edge-----can't recall Nico ever making a pass on Lewis during a race------he only ever lead from the front------Hamilton was the one that did the overtaking on at least five occasions.
Still think the Whole F1 shebang is rigged and the "German Conspiracy" is alive and well and BERNIE is as bent as an eleven sided threepenny bit--------he makes Al Capone look like "Noddy".
He's a used car dealer after all
I suppose we all have a bit of car dealer in us------most of us deal and think in fives and tens------BERNIE works in mills and bills and can afford the £63,000,000 fine imposed for a bit of jiggery pokery-----double dealing------bribery and corruption-------call it what you will, they don't teach it at oxford , Cambridge or Yale. We know it as the three D's ( Doubtful---Devious and Dubious).
I thought it was 63mil bribe to cancel the 40mil bribe?
Attachment 310250 Thanks for your kind words Jackie and Steve regarding my wife Ann. It was difficult attending the OFF event without her by my side, she was always up for this event and always loved going to Florida. I can remember how much she enjoyed the ride in the Still Crazy boat at Cadillacs three years ago and I know she would have enjoyed Tavares, although she wouldn't have been happy with the weather the following week! Thanks again.
You still got the house in Florida Steve?
Hes over here at the moment, wishing he wasn't with all this sh-tty weather around.
What I meant to say Steve is Mark, my son arrived yesterday from Stuart Florida, case of mouth running on afterburn------better start afresh----it's safer.
Jills youngest son Mathew, had a six hour op. To remove a tumour from the brain yesterday, this was done in Bristols Neurological Hospital-----more like a city shopping mall------it took 75 minutes of trolling the multi story car park before we managed to find a parking spot. Then it's a short bus ride to the Brunel Building------reception is more like the Empire State Building-------3 Costa Coffee shops on the ground floor to cater for visitors and the "Unsick"-----it's a massive modern complex.
Brother Ivan (who has signet ring cancer and been to China for stem cell treatment) turned up, along with the rest of the family.
First indications are that the team of surgeons have nailed the tumour ( which was malignant), Matt is in fine fettle otherwise---his hobby is rock and mountain climbing----he's built like a brick sh-terry so we have high hopes.
Me myself am back to normal----or as near normal as I ever will be, still not allowed to drive or go near machines for a month------funnily enough, sex did not come into the conversation, but I am of the opinion that " Little and often " is the best cure for anything that ails you. As my sainted mother used to say "If God made anything better-------he kept it for himself".
Jilly has lost 25pounds in the last two weeks----she wasn't in bad nick before all this-----apart from the wrinkles you could mistake her for a teenager. For Gods sake don't ever let anyone tell her I said that, I could have a very painful demise.
Now you know what I've been up to for the last couple of days, have to get back home Sunday, that's when the pills run out.
Will keep you all informed of Matts progress-----gotta go pick the kids up from school------talk later.
Sounds all good news over your way Jackie
I just dropped in to see Al Stoker, closing down after 47 years, of course i had my container there.....
Had lunch with Ron Hill and got the tour through the very busy Hill Marine prop shop n skunk works
Off to Ft Lauderdale today, visit my cousins and make sure i am standing in the right store for black friday
We bought the house in Sarasota in 05 Jackie and loved to be over 3 or 4 times each year sometimes with all the kids and grandkids. But time moves on when we get older if you have any hospital treatments pending you can`t get travel insurance until Doctors say you are ok and we sold it in 2012 but still visit our friends and neighbours. You did meet my daughter Cindy last week who is looking to buy a business in Sarasota in the next few months if she does I will be over and may even have to buy some old Molinari or Seebold and join in all the fun that all the drivers were having last week. Give my best regards to Mark.
Sounds to me like your on a whistle stop Tinkerbelle----you must have been in California when I was in Florida ------good few years since I've seen Ron Hill-----Al Stoker was having a ding dong with Chris Bush in a "Shoot out" at Ironton some 35 years ago.
We even have "Black Friday" in the UK nowadays.
When is the black friday in the uk?
Don't take this as gospel Tinker, but I think it's the same as the USA.
Finally made bed, Matts conscious but looks like " The Invisible Man" with his head totally enclosed, and a drain coming from behind his ear------this should come out tomorrow-----and the catheter comes off. Better than we dared hoped for 48 hours ago. Feeling absolutely KNACKERED and I've done bugger all----maybe it's relief-----could do with "a Stiff One", that's not going to happen for a couple of days------need to stay focused and on the ball, but need to switch off pretty soon to recharge the DURACELL LI-ONS, just got time to say a huge thanks to all of you for the wonderful support you have all given me in the time of need------times like this is when your friends step up to the plate--------Maybe now others will understand what us old boat racers get up to when we retire-----MYGGWY.J.
Amen brother!!
Jackie - Sounds like things might actually be looking up a bit for Matt. Also sounds like you are doing quite a bit better. Hang on tight to Jilly, keep her spirits up. I can't think of anything more difficult than dealing with such issues as what both of her sons are going through. And then, on top of it, you had to go and have a brain fart. I don't know, but I have always believed that, even in tough times, one needs to draw on their sense of humor to maintain sanity. That might sound crazy, but it has certainly helped me at times. But then maybe I never really grew up. Sorry if I sounds like i am wandering. As I said before...We love you - Steve & Iris
God Bless.......
