Why in the world did you ask "Guess who's working on the boat with his back to us" if you really wanted to know who was standing aside Sirois' boat facing the camera"????? ..... unbelievable!
The dude in the Merc shirt looks like Jerry Kohnke .....
PS: You haven't given me the address for the pics yet
That was always Your problem William—— Garbrecht told me you could only mind read part of the time!!!
I did send you my address, you probably just misplaced it. Crap and loss of memory comes from living in OHIO for so long. Most people left just before WW2
Did you know the American Indians called it OIHO SINCE TIME BEGAN. when the Swedes and Irish settled in, they couldn’t pronounce it. So they changed it to OHIO. Smart huh .
Address is 16. Longmead, Walberton , Arundel, West Sussex. Bn180qg UK.
i'll be darn. learn somethin' new every day. had no idea welch was Swedish/Irish name. huh. thanx jack.
i can tell, i'm going to have to put an "lol" or a smiley face at the end of every post here for now on...:smiletest:

Jackie,
Just tried sending an e-mail to you with the address that I have, but it "bounced". email me at [email protected]. I have something that I want to share/discuss with you but not publicly.
Just out of curiosity, How come Renato is the only one without his name sewed on his jacket?
I only know three in the picture, Renato, Mr. Bob and Mr. Gary G.
I do remember the decal on the side of the Molinari's. Renato started using those just before we left Italy in the spring of '74.
Mr. Wilson, I hope all is well on your side of the pond.
All OK now, I lost my log in for scream and fly for three days, all was not lost though. I did manage to get a further ten thousand words written for Jacks book. As my sainted mother used to say ITS AN ILL WIND .
wow, it would appear John SHERLOCK is none too pleased with Lassies “confessions of a con man” in Fact, i would say he is a tad pissed off with him.
While i dont suppose his dealings were illegal, he certainly sailed close to the wind.
All that crap about his love of Evinrude was just his way of thanking OMC for leaving a hole he was very happy to exploit .
I always wondered how he got the big following on Scream and fly. He didnt , he linked it to Facebook and used the numbers. Again , sneaky , but not illegal.
cant help but wonder if the taxman ever looked closely at his shenanigans in both Sweden and the USA .
Take a look at lassies “FACTS” ABOUT OMC SITE it does make for some interesting reading .
Sometimes when it gets printed, then it has a chance to morph into public fact.
Art portrays life (and even in the boat industry). See the movie link below, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence.
In this scene we witness the truth being revealed, but the legend was considered more acceptable. And the man who made a change, for the town's better, did not receive his due credit. But then he is Duke — John Wayne.
"When the legend becomes fact ... print the legend."

Very sad what happened to Renato, he had everything at one time, fame and fast cars, beautiful girl friend, wonderful business .
To see him now is almost tragic. From a thousand friends to very few in no time flat.
Most pictures of him today are with people who want to be seen with a boating legend, not as a friend.
The Renato Molinari that I knew was self-contained and business (racing & boat building) motivated. He kept people at a distant, and when it suited him, he would feign not knowing the English language very good around certain people. Even the Italian boat racers (and their entourage), Renato would limit his camaraderie with.
Giorgio his younger brother's nature was more open. I know because Giorgio and, his future wife, welcomed me into socializing with their large group of friends.
In the past Renato might not have a been an open book to his contemporaries. but he was a race champion on the water. A champion in which others prided themselves when they passed him.
What does a F1 motorcycle champion do after a devastating accident at Silverstone? He rehabs by waterskiing behind his Mercury powered boat My Doreen. Doreen is his nickname for his girlfriend.
Barry Sheene in all his racing contracts, he signed a clause which stated that, after the racing bike has been retired from the circuit; the bike becomes Barry’s property. And this 125cc Suzuki is Barry’s favorite in his entire racing career's bike collection. The 125cc was at the beginning of racing career, when he was also the mechanic on the bike.
A likable chap. I just watched a documentary on Barry, and it is sad that at an early age his cancer was fatal.

1976 the fastest men on the race track were Britons. In 1976 Formula One Champions were
James Hunt and Barry Sheene. But on water that year, a racer from another country was the champion.
I just watched a documentary on James and Barry, and the video was filled with a lot of interviews. Race footage and interviews with the driver’s family members, team members and beat writers. The title: Barry Sheene & James Hunt When playboys ruled the world. In the doc, we become aware one of the guys is very likable and the other can be ... plus all other issues on and off the race track.
Will F1 boat racing ever have comprehensive video documentaries, which are common for other sports?
You do not expand the fan base and public interest, when thinking small.

Both James Hunt and Barry SHEENE were legendary playboys. James and HOTTIE BIRKETT were outrageous, LORD HESKETH was his mentor.
Doreen was his wife’s nickname. Used to bring him Bacon Eggs and fried mushrooms to eat on the grid just before the start, made others on the grid throw up just before the start.
Read all about it in jacks book next year.
First of his major accidents was Daytona, was rumoured he was running close to 200 mph when it happened.
Is there a F1 driver today with any character?
If we swapped them out for robots who would we miss?

Proof that things are getting back to normal slowly, first big hugs I’ve had in twelve weeks, me and Lizzie!
