Yes it was. This picture shows only the Mercury factory boats. Lots of other stackers that day. Chryslers too. The Marine stadium acts like a backward megaphone so it was loud all day long.

Mr. Kiekhaefer was making his own dual ram afterplanes, skeg-less lower units, tie-bars, gear drive accessory sections, stainless steel water-cooled headers ,etc--and winning a lot of races!!!
