If IM not mistaken the Speciman boat is actually up for sale and it has quite a successful history.try here http://www.waterskiracing.com/Classifieds.htm
You want find any shortage on this forum, bullets have had a colt following in Aus for over 30 years ,and the love affair continues.Take the above 18fter Speciman for example.Probably over 15years old,but with an engine update it runs at the front of the field. And its in every class of outboard racing in Aus that this happens. If only you were able to buy new ones of the same quality!!! Attached are two good examples of Bullets bulit in the 1980's and still going strong toady, and winning races.
Ya Know , If ya'lld untie them ropes , They'd probably run faster .;) But seriously , those look like some nice boats you have . Seem to be simular to the Lazer's we have over here . Keep the pics coming ,I enjoy seeing differant types of boats . Rich Martin 018:cool:
We need to get some pics of Parker sking behind your boat Rich:eek:
There are some great boats built down under!
The red boat Boat is Stalker Racing, 18ft Force-250xs
The white mono is BL Marine, 19ft Cyclone-300PM
And the white air entrapment hull is ACE Racing,18ft6 Labsport -Motec injected OMC.
The Cyclone's and Force's have been exported to the States.
Just like you guy's we are very serious about our egg beaters!:)
Doug , First thing we got to work on is getting Parker back in the water . Seems when he gets close to a ramp ,he gets cold feet and heads back to the room .Rich Martin 018:rolleyes:
TWIG , How fast are you pulling these skiers ,and how far are the races ? There used to be a good bit of ski racing in the states years ago . About the only thing I ever hear of anymore is thr Catalina race anymore . I guess it's a sort of underground thing over here these days ,where as if your not directly involved in it ,you never hear of it . Rich Martin 018:cool:
Ski racing in Australia is a fairly large sport. Its no football thats for sure but it still has a good following. Our biggest event has about 450 entries. When you fathum there are 4 people in each team that alot.
The boats I posted tow 2 skiers at about 85mph in there respective classes. At the top our sport its the inboards that dominate.Towing two skiers at over 120mph.The fastest team at the moment are the "Stinga"team. Its an Aussie built Connally Powerd by a bi-turbo 496Chev with a number 6 mercruiser drive.
The current World ski race champion is a American called Tod Haig.
WOW , 450 teams . I don't beleive we've got that many Outboard Drag Racers over here . 85mph on a ski seems FAST , but 120mph is just Plain Nuts ! Thanks for the information and keep the pics coming . Rich Martin 018:D
For those in Australia, check out speedweek on SBS 12.30pm, today sunday 22/4. This bloke ran a 1650 (lightweight:eek: ) in the production class. He drove a sensible race in really rough conditions (for a ski race boat) and outlasted other boats to take third for the day.:D
HI guys check out www.bridge2bridge.co.nz for some great pics of bullets and cyclones this is the newzealand version of the aussie bridge 2 bridge
