J.W. With the greatest of respect could I ask you to go back to post # 4334.......A young feller has asked about Windermere.
I did the same as he but several years later.....I think you've earned the right much more than I to tell it like it was......Phill.
Also would you please check your P.M.'S
You and me have totally different takes on Shakey's accident Steve-------don't want to get into a pissing contest with you----so decided to keep my thoughts to myself, it's not often I do that !!!
Bill wanted me to go halves with him in a wooden bungalow they were building on stilts out on the water-------cost was £3,000, I didn't think it was a wise investment-----he reckoned we could rent it out and show a profit. I said it was always raining in Windermere and who would go there except in August.
Another ten years and it'll be just like "Mouseland" ------ six lane motorway, all the way up to Bowness.
Anyway the tree huggers made sure there's no powerboats on Windermere ------that's because we all laughed and said it could never happen------but it did.
No, I did not visit the clubhouse, last time I was in there was with Shakey-------twenty minutes before he died---------too many memories.
We always stayed at the Low Wood, Norman and Betty Buckleys place------we used to stay there with Joe Owen and the Lancashire lot!
Here it comes again ! , ! Thursday, car boot sale time-----rent day, -------just always seems to be Thursday .
Had a very good day yesterday-------did a heavy old lump of a hydro for Roger H., couldn't get the mount right no matter what------tried a dozen times, yesterday tried a new slant and bingo, did it!!!
Finally put the finishing touches to it Roger.
Made big inroads into the F2 concept------pleased with what's going on so far-------ordered all the new grits I need to beaver away at solid billets of alloy--------ought to wear an air helmet for this job-------lots of snot and filings flying about---------thank the Lord I put a new blade in the bandsaw, it's the last one of the three Gary gave me.
Didn't have any rain yesterday, or a lot of sun-----still got a long way to go before it can call itself "SUMMER"--------pools been a waste of CO2 up to now-----been out on Fishies Sunseeker just the once ! So much for Global Warming.
Serra doesn't help any, keeps sending me piccies of Florida sunshine-------not to worry-----I'll get the little bugger back in Tavares .
Hi John
Have you see the engine called the "liquid piston"? ( orbital motion)

Cheers
An exciting week in the mountains!!---It started with company from Denver (4) and it is ending with company from Deutschland (5)
-----and a birthday celebration (85)--
But the most exciting---the REDBIRDMALIBUSTANG flies again!! After over two years of working in my 'shop' everything is completed, and a test flight of over 1.5 hours confirms every thing is working---and the INSPECTION is signed off!!
(The last pic is the famous 'Mount of the Holy Cross" from 17,000 feet)
Tricks that old racers get up to---

Congratulations Gene-------proves we can still climb mountains and make things happen . Will bring the "REDBIRD" to. Tavares.
Like I said "You're so much older than me".
I like picture #2. Left seat.
Soldiered on with the F2 concept---------not like any boat in particular------just a mix of old, new, and mightabees ------ see if it's anywhere near presentable by the weekend, if it is, I'll post a piccie or two.
Waste of time today at the the car boot sale-----same old junk------different day !
Still have some "Bluedird" pictures to download from my phone------first time I ever used a phone as a Kodak !
Tried to get piccies out of the phone on to the iPad, lost two phoggies trying-----need instruction, wonder if you can "Teach an old dog new tricks" ?
Beard trim and haircut day-----locks are out of control-----my hairdresser is her who shall be obeyed and simply said ""Beardtrim"------------Nuff said !
Sold my old pillar drill to a friend of mine______meeting him up country for lunch------he builds model aircraft and wanted an accurate heavyweight machine------I'm trying to downsize, bought a modern bench press with a wind up table--------what a piece of junk-----made in Taiwan -----rattles like a tin of marbles and is as accurate as a good guess!
Will fit fit all new bearings before I give it up as a bad job.
Moral of this story is -----if your in the market for a drill, buy American or English -----only junk tools and machines come from East of Italy.
Here endeth today's lesson------have a good day. ,
