In my opinion buying somebody elses project is a complete copout. No matter what you do to the boat it will always be somebody else's boat. Theres nothing better then making it your own and having the pride of doing so. I almost did it before I did the bottom of my boat. I am glad I went the way I did.

Yeah I forgot its not original anymore. But if you knew me you would no that if my boat was new, or looked new, it would look new till the day I got rid of it. Patina is nice to. I would still have the core showing thru the deck and sides like it does now just cleaner. I wax it at least 4 times a season but Im just wearing the boot strap off at this point.

Thanks my apholstery is in pretty good shape. Just looking to get my bottom cleaned up. I will keep you in mind though.

Boat is light enough that I used 1/2 dockline through the stern eyes and the bow eye. This thing doesnt weigh alot.

We'l have to stay intouch this summer so you can see how my bottom turned out. You can't really tell with pictures, but I roll and tipped mine with fresh gel-coat. Sorry MikeyLarge. But I had blisters on mine and it was getting worrysome. I needed to save the hull. It came out a little bumpy but its slippery feeling, where as before it was more sandpaper like...if that makes sense...
Yeah I would like to do awl grip or imron to aleviate the need to acid wash the bottom every couple of weeks. I cant believe how stained it gets from just being in the water for the weekend. Im retireing in 81 days so I will have plenty of time on my hands.

Becoming a police officer around here is like hitting lotto, Your chances of getting in are very slim because of the amount of people who apply, but it is most definately worth the chance!
How do they decide? Do you take a test given by the State of New York or the county? In New Jersey you either take the Civil Service test or some of the police depts have a Chief of Police test which is something done by each individual department. Obviously in the Chief of Police test if you know someone and have the college your in. Civil Service is a little more fair however since Operation Desert Storm and Freedom there are alot more people that have achieved Veterans status so that makes it a little more difficult if your not a Vet.
down here on the island the two counties each administer their own "police test". highest scores obviously get called first for screening and then u go through the psych and into the academy. its hard to get in with even a 95 or 97 on the test because so many people are given points for military service and for being a racial minority. i am friends with two brothers that are the nephews of a captain and that helped alot but they still had a hard time getting in. seems to be alot easier in other states. i was planning on taking the test but i would rather go boating. hopefully ill be out of college and holding a decent job by the time i would even get called. hopefully not a dumb decision not taking the testQuote:
