73.6 today with my 26p trophy and i feel it had a little bit left in it:thumbsup:. I am still hitting the rev limiter so I want to try a 27p next.
I wish this picture wasnt so blurry

That would have been a killer pic. Looks like your trimmed up pretty high. Is that necessary to free her up?
I had it trimmed that high just for fun, I was running into the wind and we were taking pictures so I figured i would carry the nose up pretty high just to make a cool picture:thumbsup: But I can not run the boat much over 50 trimmed like that, the boat is just too loose. That was also 73.6 with 30 gallons of fuel in the boat, a spare prop, and a heavy tool box!!!!!!!
My rev limiter is only 5800:icon_bs:
You need to get a 250efi ignition computor to get the 6150 rev limit. I should have traded you mine for the cowl. Im running a 300pm on my 250.
I am going to play with the motor soon enough. I just want to see how fast I can go on a complete stock "fishing Motor" with a stock trophy prop. My goal is to hit 75 with all stock stuff:thumbsup:.
75.5 spinning a 28 trophy at 5200 , Going out wednesday night and I am going to see if i cant spin that prop a little better.... I do remember somewhere in this thread that someone said a bone stock 250 will not get a 22 velocity into the 80's. We might just get damn close with a 225 :D:D
Mikey, a 250 ecu should put you very close to 80 mph! With a 300 pm ecu, you'll have no trouble hitting 80.
76.1 still with my pops in the boat:thumbsup: It has more left in it I just have to find it!!!!!!!!!!!! It is nice to cruise at 70 now instead of 65!!!!!
Mike that's awesome!!!. I'm guessing the conditions were good too. If you're spinning the 28P 5200, you got some RPM's to go. It makes me wonder if I should try to cup my spare 24P trophy a bit and give it another shot. Maybe the better torque is at a lower RPM. These 225's are like a diesel...LOL Keep experimenting, I will try some of your set-ups.

I am spinning the 28 at 5600 now, it just takes a little bit of distance to build the rpm. Conditions were ok, but not great windy and choppy. It was windy enough that i had to run with the wind to my back otherwise the boat would pick up and hover around 74 mph last wednesday and I would have to take my foot out of it!!! I am going out this wednesday night to see if i cant get a slightly bigger number. The boat is a solid 75 mph boat no matter what, any number over that is just to say I did it
Another blurry cameraphone pic

I have run into the same problem with my 28 trophy. Takes forever to get up in the rpms. My best speed has been with my 25 trophy. I was thinking of having the 28 labbed to see if it would spin up easier. Or maybe like you say I should just be happy with a solid high 70mph boat.
I have a 26p trophy but it is just a tad too small for my rev limiter. My 28 is labbed, and i run it with 2 of the plastic exahust vents completely out, which helps me get on plane. The rpms go right to 5300 and then just take their sweet time building. that last mph takes a little while with the 28 but it is still the best running prop i have tried yet!!!!!!!
Mike, very impressive. I'll be trying for 75 with my setup spinning a 26 chopper. My engine is a 250 efi:
