Whipping a kids ass and beating a kid are two entirely different things. Parents that don't whoop ass should be beaten whereas any adult that beats a kid should get the whole can of whoop ass. I got my share of ass whooping but was never beat and a good ass whooping got my attention. It stung and was embarrassing but didn't hurt me, it taught me.

In college psychology class, the prof asked each one of us to state our innermost feelings about ourselves. Girls said they felt like they were full of love, kindness etc. Some said they felt intelligent. Some guys said they felt powerful/strong. I answered that I felt I really didn't give a damn....Everyone laughed at my answer...The prof didn't.... He looked me square in the eye and said that I would always be happy with my life....And then winked at me. As kind of an acknowledgement. As he continued on with the lecture he mentioned the others could easily let themselves down by not meeting their self expectations. I see others with my same perception of life. (some here) So i'm not the only one..Don't take it too seriously...We must "Endeavor to persevere".....
