they crash and Ozzie wins!!
There has to be many of you out there who are wondering what the hell these crazy old farts talking about?...??? Well I'm not gonna be the one to tell you, if you can't work it out for yourself you shouldn't even be peeping at this thread.
Hamilton got pole in Italy-----first time in 8races----just needs to stay cool to bring home the bacon.
Its a two horse race again Williams, Ferrari, Mclaren and Red Bull are just too far off the pace----their fighting for third on the podium.
Up in the boon docks East of London, South of Stanstead, if you didn't have kin living here there's no way you'd come anywhere near it, God made it and forgot it. It's only for tonight , we hit the M25 back home tomorrow.
You should take a look at the "PARKER"thread, there's some interesting reading there with more to come I feel sure. WILLABEE knows it well, Jimbo lives around there and probably knows more about it than any else. Rich should have a tale or two, so would Sanders and Posey if you could get 'em to open up.
Wonder if Jim Hunt and Kenny Kitson got any thoughts. Then of course there's always old man Seebold, I think he can still write----I know he doesn't see too well, he keeps missing two foot putts and then blames me for not bailing him out. We play together in the old farts tourney.
Been meaning to ask him about the Silverwing/Seebold ET79 that won Parker, still think that would be the most valuable race boat in the USA (if it could be found).
I digress, it's Saturday night and all is silent and the lids are drooping, means it's time to bade you all a fond farewell, MYGGWY . J.
It's five o friggin clock and the four year old is already up and running, watching a bloody Harry Potter CD--------with headphones!!! Jesus wept, what happened to kids?
Lucas fell asleep on the couch last night as Jilly and I tucked into the Chinese take away delivered to the door by a a local coolie. Guess who carried him up two flights to bed, I'm certain my own kids never weighed that much, even when they were 14. ---------hells teeth, the boy's only four!!!
Ivan And Kate went up to Soho to dine at Michael Roux's restaurant and spend the night at the Dorchester, it's Kate,s 40th birthday, that's the reason we're staying here babysitting, and I'm pounding the keyboard as dawn is breaking, c'mon Wilson, get a life.
Came across an E type V 12 Jaguar with just 55,000 miles on the clock, it's a real rust bucket but has the right lump in it. It's on E Bay and has reached £8,600 up to now. Haven't got enough years left to do a restoration so it's no good to me.
Will probably be bedtime before you hear from me again, it's 6am and I am "REQUIRED", J.
I thought they gave away rusted E types or paid you to take them..
can spend more money than rebuilding a Spitfire ( as in the flying ones)
Who is going to win at Monza?
You thought wrong!!! Especially when they have the right low mileage power plant , ya know---------like one that would fit in a an ET Silverwing Seebold,
All you need is a Lynx D Type kit to stitch to the rolling chassis, where's your sense of imagination gone ?
Barring accidents, Lewis should stroll this one, Rosberg an easy second, Massa needs a touch of good fortune, the Aussie May struggle a bit but has more going for him than Ferrari which is cart horse slow at the minute, Button 's going well so should come home fourth or fifth----but as a pundit I'd make a damn fine ballet dancer.
Will await your comments after the race.
Nipper is still watching Harry bleeding Potter and the prisoner of Azerbaijan , that's why I'm on the iPad, have a nice day.
Jackie, your tips for Monza were pretty much spot on....come Grand National day we will all be looking to you I reckon!!!
Did'nt realise the crystal ball was your thing, have a peer in and see If I'm going to meet a tall blonde any time soon....Phill.
Reckon I could have gotten great odds for the prediction-----Hamilton, Rosberg, Massa, who's a bloody clever NOSTRADAMUS then? Button wasn't fifth ----he had problems and was ninth, apart from that I wasn't far off.
Monza, is probably the best track in the world with four overtaking straights, so it sorts out the best drivers and cars, Spa is the drivers favourite, but Monaco is the special one and has all the prestige and history.
Enough of cars for a couple of weeks, let's get back to boats, Mark just sold a red Eliminator, he took it in exchange for some work he did.
He got his 50' superboat back from GEICO and is working like crazy to get ready for the Miami show in February.
Sam confirmed I am travelling "BUSINESS" to Florida with her on the 12th of November, this is my birthday and Christmas present combined, dontcha just love your kids sometimes???
Tavares getting close, wonder if I can come away without getting thumped by some old racer I insulted somewhere along the line.
Arrived back home around five, traffic on the M25 was minimum, so did the trip in a tad over 2 hours, sunshine and dry roads.
Got an old girls 90th birthday lunch tomorrow so will only get a couple of hours in the shop before then------can't get much done because of social commitments, life's a bitch ain't it, too busy being busy to get any work done. May drop a line or two tomorrow, Salutations peeps, MYGGWY .J.
Post race interviews suggest Rosberg went off on purpose at the chicane, you think he meant to do it -------TWICE... Toto Wolf, Mercedes head honcho swears he did not sanction the move-----but Hitler said he had no intention of invading Poland. Me myself know Hamilton had the legs on Rosberg all weekend, even surviving another mechanical failure at the start, he just has to stop sulking and race.
Beautiful day here and the forecast for the week is good, will get a couple of hours in the workshop this morning, had a few ideas on the offshore boat, the configuration and aero foils etc, quite excited about it, life's good!
Have ALL the old farts hibernated?
No comments-----no sex and travel you silly old git ?
Will get back to you later tonig
Have to explain to colonial colleagues, Ron54 or "PHILL" Was once married to my good friend and co-driver Don Ross's eldest, blonde daughter Shirley-----so you will have to forgive the backchat that goes on here------I have been friends with the Ross family for over fifty years.
Went to the 90th birthday lunch in Hassocks today, food was lousy but the company was effervescent.
Did an hour or so in the shop this afternoon doing alterations to the offshore tunnel concept, seem to spend more time "re-doing" than doing, maybe that's my uncertain upbringing and my sainted mothers influence!
Let myself get drawn into R/J's ROTORY prolifications on the "Parker 9hours" site, I have got to learn to keep this motor mouth tightly shut in future.
Only the Scots could be dumb enough to bite the hand, then kill the golden goose, 500 years of history down the tube. Never met a level headed Scot in all my 82 years, after the yes vote they'll find out what it's like to be out in this big old world trying to earn a living on your own instead of
"Mammy" changing your nappy and holding your hand all the time, no it ain't never going to happen. Like kids only leave home for a dead certain alternative.
Putin got away with murder 3,500 and rising-------the west writes letters and imposes sanctions,
France has the worlds largest aircraft carrier ready for delivery to Putin------it's not been paid for yet, just a couple a billion owing, so guess what?
Got the rest of the week to myself to do just what the hell I want to . Have a good night MYGGWY.J.
Looks like we're about to have an "Indian " summer, forecast is good and steady for the next ten days and it's a drop dead gorgeous morning.
Workshop is beckoning and time to work up a head of steam, head down and arse up as my sainted mother used to say.
In 1971 I sold my mechanic "Chas" a couple of ALBATROSS aluminium inboards, one of them was a "continental" 4seater with a climax lump in it. His next of kin are still trying to sort out his estate. Among his collection of WW2 Jeeps and BP gear cases ----D Type lynx kit, 18 Avenger, 16' Levi. And a field full of range rover off road bits was a workshop with a Colchester Bantam lathe that used to be his fathers ( a one legged man who was always downright miserable, but worked for Rolls Royce in Derby and a brilliant engineer).
Upshot of all this is , I would dearly love the lathe, but I don't suppose it will happen now.
Heres a couple of piccies of the two Albatross 's.
Havent got a clue Steve, Chas had so much gear chucking around in "Supershed" and the six containers were stuffed with "Collectables" as Chas used to call it .
He had six BP gear cases in the loft above the garage, he had a Keith Black V8 which came out of the Jones tunnel I sold him, I once sold him five jeeps and ten axles I got in a deal, he still had them when he died.
He had a three seater Triumph roadster which he had been restoring for twenty years!
Apparently he left things in a mess, that's why I can't get the lathe and I don't know if the Albatross has reached the market yet.

This is is first couple of piccies of the offshore concept-------not supposed to be like anything else-----how could it be with a single nuclear power plant and Gyro stability------OK, so it's got twin hulls and six steps------all that proves is, it's not an aircraft carrier.
Its early days yet, I've changed things a dozen times already and we're not even half way-----knocked off at 4PM totally shagged out. Wouldn't earn much of a living even if I was gainfully employed. Enjoyed the day though.
Got a clear run for the rest of the week, no appointments or scheduled interruptions
What is it they say about a motor running it's absolute best just before it blows up?
Anyway let me tell you a little about the "THE THANG"
sponsons out of French oak, cockpit is Bar-B-QUE acacia, power plant is Holly, aero foils and deck are stainless.
Reason for this-----I'm using all the old bits of stuff I've accumulated over the years.
No, it's not ideal, you need to polish oak for fifty years before you get anything like a finish. The holly still has bird music coming out of it will probably split from asshole to breakfast time. The Acacia is dead as a door nail and heavy as lead, so it should polish OK.
Not to worry, I'll make SOMETHING out of the mess-----Bye-bye time, MYGGWY .J.
I'd be surprised if it ran at all Rich, the lump of Holly goes all of six pound without the stainless kerfuffle------but I'm happy you like something about it-------you already have one of my bits of nonsense you won down at an earlier OFF meeting in Jupiter.
Panic stations in parliament -----penny has finally dropped among politicians that it just might be prudent to keep Scotland in the Union and madman Salmond just be more than a right pain in the posterior.
It's time the hoi poloi got off cloud seventy two and a half and started to look at what's going on at home, instead of rushing all over the world thinking they can solve the rest of the worlds problems, which of course they haven't got a cat in hells chance of achieving .
Due to visit the distilleries of Scotland in two weeks time, wonder if I need body armour or just cancel the trip ?
Stonking, beautiful day, no wind, cloudless blue sky, one of those good to be alive days, must get out there and smell the roses whilst the weather holds. Enjoy the day my friends, I know I will.J.

Holly nuclear reactor type pretend propulsion (Jules Verne).
Not going for it Bob, It's dead and buried a long time ago, let it rest, it earned it's place in history, time to let go.
Cracked on and finished the propulsion unit-----pictures tonight, Andy Warhol woulda been proud.
Still got 3 hours to poke in before I'm through for the day.
Just checking to be sure you were still running on all 12 cylinders...
Lost all the text I had written about the piccies, I blame S&F, and it has not reappeared with a "Restore" message, blast their hides, I got better things to do than write the same message over and over, just as stupid as watching a film over again, the question begs, why the Hell would you ?
Damned if I can remember what I said----was probably rubbish anyways
.gave it all another coat of beeswax, but it will need another six before it gets any sort of Patina!
Not a lot to report so I guess you need a little Johnny tale to tittilate the taste buds, here goes!!!
monday morning class teacher says to class
What do you need at home?
elli may jumps up and says, a new computer miss!
teacher replies, yes, that would help !
mary Ellen throws her arm up and says, how 'bout a new 60" TV miss?
teacher says, yes, that would help ! Sees little Johnny with his head in his hands shaking his head, so she say to him, Johnny what do you need in the house?
he mumbled. NUTHIN,
Teach says Nothing Johnny, how can you be so sure?
Johnny stands up in the front of the class and says,----MY SISTER BROUGHT HOME HER MUSLIM BOYFRIEND AND I HEARD DAD SAY THATS THE LAST FECKIN THING WE NEED IN THE HOUSE.
SLEEP TIGHT MYGGWY . J.
Promise that's the last time I suffer one of my old jokes on you, (well, for some time anyway), I only do it to fill up a space, I know it's not in the true spirit of boating and all that, but it's the way I tell 'em.
was in the shop crack-o-sparrow so naturally things moved along quite quickly-----well into the tail fin and aero foil maybe give you the odd peek, that's if anyone's interested.
Is Oscar going down for manslaughter and the other 3 charges?
should be able to keep him off the streets for at least 15 years
Tough call, family has money and he's white, S/A never did have the fairest judicial system in the world anyways----chop his middle leg off----give him a starter of ten.
If I was the girls father I'd be waiting with an elephant gun and plead mitigating circumstances, if his lucks out, he could get three months -----suspended.
White guy shoots white women and goes before black judge..
Whats willam hill givings odds at..
He's got off with murder-------manslaughter, ??? he has to be guilty, nobody can question that one, has to have a custodial or South Africa becomes a laughing stock.
Conundrum is, 12 months -------12 years???-------community service or suspended??
Like You said, well heeled, white but with a black judge.
Problem here is the old one------not only has justice to be done-----but has to be SEEN to be done, South Africa is in the world spotlight, no place to hide, this decision will have world wide repercussions -----that poor old judge is onto a hiding to nothing-----wonder if she'll still be in a job next week?
Helicopters buzzing like flies over the house today----press day at THE GOODWOOD REVIVAL -----it all kicks off tomorrow----quarter of a million peeps expected over the next three days, good weekend to stay home.
Every vintage, veteran and race car in Europe will be on show, some of the exhibits are worth millions. Dress code is anything from Victorian to Edwardian, and the grand ball is sold out years in advance.
Jilly works Thursdays in St Winifrids Hospice charity shop in Barnham, they have a shop full of vintage clothes that are for sale at reasonable prices-----today she had American ladies buying shoes, hats, handbags and dresses all ready for the ball.
My daughter Sam even joined the golf club, she reckons it's world class.
Its also home to the most beautiful racecourse in the world--"Glorious Goodwood"
Also has one of the oldest car racing circuits----"Goodwood"
Add to that it's own Airfield and one of the largest collections of modern art in the world, THE CASS FOUNDATION and don't forget the fine dining at the Richmond Arms and the Kennels.
You can tell the place ain't too shabby.
If your wondering where all the show-biz, sportsman, film stars, jockeys, entrepreneurs, race car drivers, and your next door neighbours are, look no further than Goodwood this weekend.
Will talk boats tomorrow, that's enough to keep you going 'till then. Say goodnight to the sandman, MYGGWY .J.
Oh dear, me and my mouth, never know with my mates whether they're pissed at me or gobsmacked or simply disagree -------as you can see, nobody posted a comment, good, bad, or indifferent. Maybe I should stay clear of world events and stick to the workshop.
Another beautiful morning, good to be alive, time for my shower, enjoy your day.
I prefer the hill climb myself too many posers at the revival
Got to meet Smokey Yunick and Junior Johnson, watched the tyrell 6 wheel run amongst tons of other stuff ( 917-30 Porsche, Mclaren M8F etc etc)
The whole deal make me sick. It was obvious that he shot her intentionally. She had recently told him that she wanted to break up. For him to get his gun, he had to slide across her side of the bed - obviously she was not there. Any bit of logic would imply that it was probably her in the bathroom. But no, he did not ask "honey, are you alright?" No, he just fire numerous shots through the door. Then you have all the drama that consumed the news around the world for what seemed like forever, when other more relevant news could have been reported. In the end he is guilty of negligent homicide. The legal experts say that he probably will never have to spend a day in jail. I have no doubt that his book and movie rights will bring him countless millions. Yes, this is a real life example of the perfect murder....
Would normally totally agree with you but South Africa craves respectability and a negative verdict would set the judicial system back light years--------they cannot afford anything less than a ten year custodial or the world will see, money comes first and justice a poor second.
We are a country of posers and the "Revival" is the perfect platform, even the colonials are joining in-------this is it's 18th year and bigger than ever.
You wax lyrical about the event and your happy with the company so stop being so bloody pedantic, just enjoy the sheer extravaganza ------there's nothing like it anywhere else in the world.
Attachment 305871Attachment 305872Attachment 305873Attachment 305875Attachment 305876
Spent most of the day revamping the "Thang"-----took the biggest piece of acacia I had and made a base for it, planed and varnished the whole base but left one side natural bark----just to be quirky, It's had six coats of beeswax and finally there's a bit of patina beginning to appear.
Swirled the tail fin ,just like we used to, up in OSHBERG in the 70/s.
Been a long day and the weekend fast approaches so farewell and sweet dreams, MYGGWY .J.

Defence lawyers are now pleading that darling oscar should not serve a custodial due to his cart spring runners. Didn't seem to affect him much when he topped Sheeva.
Defence claims it would cause undue hardship to " clap him in irons" and he should be given a suspended sentence, could it really be he is going to get away scot free.
I got some bad news for oscar-----you will never make old bones------somewhere, someone is wanting an eye for an eye.
Judge said it was all " CIRCUMSTANTIAL " evidence--------I suppose it was if you ignore the fact he pumped four rounds into the girl, shot her stone dead, was found to be sane and admitted the slaughter with one of his 55 guns-----it belays belief. That judge is walking the cinder path.
Goodwood is in full swing with record crowds, last day tomorrow, then the village gets back to some semblance of normality .
Spent the day making a six foot planter for the pool room patio, her indoors wanted it done for planting the tulips in.
Bought a six foot slatted oak bed head and tail board and twenty oak fronted kitchen unit doors, have enough left over to make a couple of oak planters for the front doorstep------ cost me £7 for the lot. Tired as a 1930 Model T so bugs bite MYGGWY . J.
Hi Jackie, sorry I've been lax in responses while stuck without a real puter. Do you remember who said " her eyes were like limpid pools of Castrol GTX "? Keep posting, we're still reading and enjoying.
Dave
Was probably my sainted mother-----I think she was responsible for "your eyes are like pools----football pools" She was on occasions a sarcastic bovine.
Jilly just said she thinks it was ----Bugs Bunny, or Popeye to Olive Oil,??
Sounds like a Latino with an English twist---me myself would opt for Caesar Romero!! Or Shakespeare at Bradford Alhambra .
Man U playing a full team today------let's see what 200 mill performs like?
Beautiful day----the Indian summer in full swing, let's enjoy.
