OK, some pix,.. *Damn..THE DUCK FARM!;)..other side Grand!..Crooked lake!

First the sign..second the "swing", I sat on 55 years ago!..last "Grady's Hotel/bar. 1/2 way down the road.
Used to be nothing but woods, off the right heading in..where we kids went "hunting with BB guns"..:p...riding then the new Honda "step through", Passport"..(Ya meet the nicest people on a Honda!..1965 ad?) ..not carrying BB guns though, I bet:eek::thumbsup:
Now massive houses, that side.
Rest still there, shoreline.
Then, after Nam..went back, but now the "Chain" friend bought a house on Pistakee, (sp) and it got worse, the fun times.
Don't get me started on the "Chain"..in the 70's..remember well..the first Blarneys...the thought.."lets do Thursday evening drag races?..
And the "Channel Cruises"..Switzercraft..(know Bob, McHenry..still cooking), XS 1500, surface 2 blade! Good "rooster"..and got me "laid many times....girls.."can I go for a ride?"

i know where that is...............i think the lake on the other side is sand lake.........ive seen that sign back in the old days.........did u go to high school here??????im sure u know people i do...........some of the old ones are still around...........did u know effingers???? they had the hardware store.... small ass world on this sight.............and im diggin this thread.........although im done searching for a while...........

I'm a fan of His late 60's and on stuff, He just didn't make Me cry like some People:smiletest:... Didn't really like His early stuff, but His last 10 years were good stuff... Coming from a land of cotton Myself, I guess I'd better like Him or face exile :eek:... Elvis' guitar player lives about 10 miles from Me on My home lake, and Elvis got His first big start on the Louisiana hayride here in My hometown... My Grandparents used to live about 1/2 between Memphis and were Elvis was born in Tupelo, Miss. so He is a big deal down here especially to the older generations...

Yep, Sand lake close..rest no clue, been gone there decades..west coast 15 years now...no on school, lived western burbs, Chi town..Riverside..
Still, that place ya live in, holds SO MANY mem's me..and will NEVER forget, those meet, and those "old days".."youth"..in solid "innocence"..just needed to explore ......and my parents let me.."roam"..just to much fun:thumbsup:
