Gene spent hours day after day in the seat of what became his favorite test rig and eventually traded the race Molinari for the boat Gene often referred to as the "little rocket" resulting in immediate success as he dominated qualifying, Saturday heat and for the money Sunday afternoon in California first time in competition. Some may recognize this boat from the second effort catalog . The photo was taken from a helicopter of a then white, red & blue sponsor-less #96 if i remember correctly.
