Jackie re. the screen.....The method is- first of all to do a card template from an old CornFlake box or similar, if it takes more that one piece then glue them together and allow the glue to dry before moving on the next bit....When you are happy with final shape lay it out on a big enough sheet of something like acetate sheet of suitable scale thickness and cover to area to be trimmed with masking tape...Lay the completed template on the taped area and pencil around the outside including any bending angles.....Cut around with a decent pair of Jilly's kitchen scissors...... Was clean up time yesterday—— replaced the bandsaw blade with a new very expensive carbon six toother——— changed all the discs and sanding belts—— chucked out one of my favourite angle grinders, ( faulty switch proved impossible to replace) !
Need to empty the bins, sweep the floor and sharpen the lathe tooling—— took all the scrap alloy to the yard——- ten kilos——- enough to pay for a stack of new material !
Im having a purge before I start anything new——— tired of disappearing up my own arse—— maybe I should slow the rig down ——- step off and smell the roses once in a while.
Still beavering away in the shop—— trying to get the place back to how it used to be before the mad fitsof depression.
Cannot believe how much needs doing —— and how long it’s taking me !
No doubt about it —— time has taken its toll, even though time has been kind ——- weariness and intolerance creeps in——- do not suffer fools gladly——— and still tell the majority——- sex and travel is the only way to go.

Did .the car boot this morning——- that was next door to a waste of time——- same old crap—— different day!
Thought I might try to get BONHAMS, the auction house, which sells off very expensive historic vehicles, for ridiculously excessive amounts of money in a one off “CONCEPT”.
Had the idea bubbling around in my brain for a day or two——- do have a few old “BARN FIND” cars (models of course ) kicking around the shop, cluttering the place up.

This one was clear varnished Obeche———- beautiful looking boat with an adjustable wing on the front earlier. Spent more time goofing about with the damn thing than concentrating on driving.
Boat ran around the 100 mark and was good enough to beat the outboards of that time, once I’d cured the water swallowing problem !

Thought I knew most things about cathedrals in the Uk——— turns out I knew very little about CANTERBURY——- first Archbishop was Augustine in 597 ad——- getting on for a couple of thousand years previous!
Yes I’m a Christian—— I go to church for weddings—- christenings—- funerals and if I’m in need of Gods assistance——- but that’s about it. I don’t push my beliefs on anyone so whilst I’m not a fanatical church goer ——- I m a believer but not to excess.
So, I was pleasantly surprised to find out just how much I enjoyed the cathedral.
To all my colonial friends, I will say——— if you ever get the opportunity to visit CATERBURY CATHEDRAL——- just do it, you will never regret it.

Jackie, you will recall that Alf was living in Canterbury during the '80's. In late 1984, as the sole Canadian running on the V8 circuit, I was matched with Andy and Team Bullen/Burgess for the '85 Pro One Series. A week or so before the first race of the season (Munich), I flew to London, stayed with Andy and his family at their home in Herne Bay, then worked on the boats over at Alf's place in the country. I must say, the Bullens - all of them, including their close friends/team members - were wonderful hosts, genuinely fun to be with, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there - which included a day's visit to Canterbury Cathedral! In case anyone wondering what all the piccies are ——— it’s canter Cathedral!
I remember them well but not fondly. Action Marine's predecessor Banshee built a number of them and I drove a couple of them. they were very inefficient. It took a 455ci v8 to push one as fast as we were running with a 99ci Mercury on the same hull. Steering power on was vague and non existent off throttle. There is a series running those big inch jet boats. They run them in winding shallow ditches against the clock. Canterbury Cathedral start in the year 868 burial place of the Black Knight or Prince. Very amazing place to stand in. Know that is history.
