There have been a couple threads on this particular motor as people tend to think they are a bridge port. Being an unpainted block, having EFI, and the flywheel, I can see that. However, they are an oval port. It should be a pretty strong runner on that boat; will we see it on the water soon?Quote:

Did you remove all the foam from the sponsons? It appeared from the pictures that it was removed. It must have been a lot of weight savings. I am thing that mine might be partly water soaked on the one side?? I used to run the speedo pick up there and tore it off a couple of times.

I did..And call me crazy but i put it right back in..My hull at one time in its life went over and was upside down for some time and yes put water into the pass side sponson..However just like you ive had the water pick up pulled (ripped) off the drive side sponson more times then i can count..And would you know that wing showed no water in it at all...But the pass side wing had alot...Its no walk in the park to remove that junk....But to replace the core in the bottom of the sponsons you realy need to.(and my core was rotted).I added drain tubes that runs from the rear of the sponson to the front of the hull.. I glassed it down and went to pouring in the new foam..I also added drain plugs in the rear of the wings..Along with adding the one brace on the tail end of each.....http://i1121.photobucket.com/albums/...ps204f1b9f.jpg
I drilled 100s of tiny holes on the bottom side of the tubs so the new foam could not enter into it..And it all worked out as planned..

Looks like you did an excellent job, sure is a lot of work but you did it the right way. By putting the foam back in at least you know it as strong as it was when it new and the drain tube are great to drain and possible water that could get in there. Do you have any idea the difference in weight from before and after?
