Gene, I have to tell you, I feel honoured and humbled that you put some of my concepts on the "TRICKS" thread.
was going to put a winch on the jockey/winch block but never quite around to doing it.
Bit like the road to hell------full of good intentions.
Went back to the "MALIBUSTANG" made the mount, got it half right,!! Spun up a few "SAMs" and a couple of "stingers", just have to mount them under the wing and stitch the radio mast on it.!
Oh yes, I forgot to tell you Gene , I painted the wing silver, the mohogony wing was never going to be anything other than a misfit, then polished the oak fuselage.
Once it's all cobbled together, I'll post you a piccie------not a lot of Malibu left in her my friend------there is a hell of a lot of -----"MUSTANG" though.
You will like the caption I gave her.
Was going to Clive's Birthday bonfire and Hog Roast last night but got smitten by the dreaded " Lurgy" ------Puke and Squits. -----took to my bed for 24 hours and felt like a dogs dinner. Gently eased my way into the shop for an hour late morning. Lost 94 percent of my hearing-----Jilly is now shouting at me, won't be long before she starts throwing things.
Got a dilly of a headache, might get back to you later in the day. Enjoy the rest of the weekend------mine got screwed!
Just when you think things can't possibly get any worse, it does, and in spades,.
We were due to bury Matt on Wednesday, meanwhile his wife suffers a heart attack and gets taken to hospital----------deciding whether to do a by pass. Or a stent job.
A number of phrases come to mind, never rains but pours, Somedays you eat bear!--------
Spielberg could not have thought up this scenario.
Workshop opens early Monday morning------have to find a bit of sanity somewhere!
mark and Vicky flew in from Florida for a weeks holiday on Saturday. Temperature dropped down to five below -------swears he's never leaving Martin County again.
could possibly get back to you later, has to be some good news-----I used up all the bad news.
Tell me Rich, you ever get the Rolls Trophy repaired and presented, or is it not what you wanted?
Never had any feed back from the Tavares dinner-----did it happen?
Roger told me he got his big wing back home safely.
Still waiting to hear from R/J if the ROTORY arrived in one piece.
Nobody could find Geoff Briggs so I told John Schubert he could give his grandson the Molli/Rude.
Finished the first attempt on the COSWORTH ------took it all apart and started afresh-----mounted it on a solid 3X3 alloy billet------looks half presentable now.
Maybe post a piccy tomorrow if the feckin camera hasn't died on me.
Jackie- your work is really brilliant!!!!!! You my friend are a talented craftsman
Jackie:
Your concept hasn't arrived yet. If it doesn't show up in the next couple of days, I'll call Bette again.
It looks OK in a picture but don't look into it too deep, they are not scale models by any means, just an old farts concept of things in today's world, jest trying to keep the mind active and the Athritis at bay, but thanks very much for the compliment, it means a lot ! Jack.
Jilly had had enough of the sign language by eight o'clock this morning and booked me in to see the doc at 10-20.
Arrived at Ten just in case he wasn't busy-----bloody waiting room was full of wannabes waiting to talk nonsense to me.
Old man Cronan tried to strike up a conversation with me -----gave him short thrift, pointed him towards the old chap in a zimmer!
Mr. Parkinson sidled up next to me and whispered in my ear something I didn't understand-----told him I was here to see the doc about my deafness, that really pissed him off, he went away muttering somethings about illegitimate Yorkshireman!
That nasty old git Altzhymer was recruiting but a kick on the shin was enough to see him on his way.
Absolutely no sign of the reaper------he's moved on to warmer climates .
Doc gave me some oils and antibiotics to squirt in there-------result-------deaf as a post!
Jackie - My father, Gerry, celebrated his 91st birthday with our family on Friday. The highlight was seeing your 16" Sprint on the dining room table, which of course prompted a trip down memory lane. Dad watched you race in Valleyfield and Parker, was at every race of mine in NA and several in Europe. Like you, his hearing is pretty much shot (holding boats in place during Lemans starts didn't help ), but isn't too worried about it... just tells us to crank up the volume. In any case, he'll be sharing your artwork with us - the race never ends at our place!

Hey Gene, look what's happening to the MALIBU------when I started farting about with a head full of ideas, the schoolboy in me took over and I loaded it with artillery . 6 cannons ----2 sidewinders, 4 SAMs -------next up is the vapour trail if I can get my rear in gear long enough.
Thats when it became the "MALIBUSTANG "
My sons been over here for four days already and I still haven't seen him ( just 25 miles away).
He has 3 days left, Wednesday is Matt's funeral so that leaves 2 days to catch up on his life so far this year------Where have all the flowers gone?-----
I have to get off this roller coaster at the next stop and take a breather, the damn things heading out of control and I'm getting tired, dafter than a donkey-----deaf as a post----wiser than an owl----crankier than "Willabee" ( but that's up for discussion)------still managed to ride Matt's mountain bike down the lane-------coming back was a stone bitch, gave me palpitations. Even the 24 gear settings were of little help-----so I sold the damn thing to my neighbour .If it hasn't got the Lexus badge on the front, I'm not riding it.
Another friend Keith, lives across from me repaired the Miller spot welder----it's up and running again and I got a rake of concepts just needing a squeeze.
I dislike bad English and bad spelling so I just read this through and realised I'm rambling like a looney-----time I wasn't here----God Bless and MYGGWY .J.
Chucking it down this morning------Murphy throwing herself at the French window demanding entry------serves her right for being an all nighter.
Got a multitude of jobs to finish, a son to see and an idea forming, it's 5-30 am and time to start the day-----things should be back to near normal around the weekend-----if I strike it real lucky!
Jackie: I notice 2 things when I looked at your pictures.
1. You just can't get away from a "Rotary". Hint, look at the matt.
2. It looks like the cannons will shoot off the prop?
Have a good day!
Watermark;
Not only is Gerry a great father for you, he was ALWAYS your #1 fan from a Chekmate 13 to your V8 days.
Great picture!
