The kitchen goddess does a pretty good line in giant dahlias——- mind you, damn things dare not be anything but the biggest and best or they’d be compost in no time !
INDY had a cob on this morning——refused to leap into the back of the Trusty Lexus——- had to lift her up and dump her in the back———- bugger me if she didn’t want lifting in again on the way home.
Well she can forget that——— I wouldn’t even lift a twenty year old blonde with 38” boobies into the back these days, let alone a sodding big black Labrador!
Finishing off some of the concepts I started years ago but never put the finishing touches to——- trouble is, it’s been so damn long since I did them, I’ve long forgotten what I was going to do.
I’ll fernagle something——- just need em out of the shop and into the shed ! That way I can create more nonsense to clutter up the shop.

Sweet peas have been magnificent this year——— accidentally left the hosepipe running for three hours on the sweet peas————— result is ten inch stems and three or four flowers per stem—— they need lots of water ! Attachment 413350

Now thats what what I mean about a trophy that lasts for over fifty years——- a touch of class and craftsmanship——- I’ll give you the fact it’s a tad ”Ostentatious” and maybe a wee bit oversized but nevertheless it’s a thing of beauty which lasts forever .

Have no idea what’s matter with the S & F old farts——-they’ve all gone very quiet—— can’t remember pissing them off enough to hibernate.
Willabee, Stavros, Pilgrim, Roger H and Rich all gone quiet .
Still , it’s all in a day’s work——- you take the rough with the smooth !

How ‘bout that for a bouquet of sweet peas at the breakfast table——— I have to admit, the duchess has a way with flowers !

Diddicoys—- Gyppos——Romanies——- call em what you will, these are the buggers that never work, don’t pay taxes, but drive around in Mercedes trucks and cars trying to con people without actually doing anything!
They’ve got a new scam going on——- used to be the tarmac ploy——- now they run around in new vans and pick up trucks with HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE emblazoned on the back.
Watch out—- watch out, the Dids’s are about!

Her Royal Highness is rather “chuffed.” With her sweet peas this year. She’s picking over a hundred blooms a day.
But today has been a get well soon day———- 9:00am docs appointment to sort out the Gall stone problem. Then this afternoon, physiotherapy at the hospital—— strange how time flies when youre having fun!
Didnt get any prime time in the shop today———- maybe tomorrow!

Ive got a head full of bright ideas——— just need to put some of em into reality.
July’s nearly over and August always reminds me of the OZARKS——— stayed with the Seebold’s during summer holidays——— had pina coladas on “The Barge”——- lots of drivers stayed with Lynne and Billy——- Walt Yarborough and Patty stayed——— my own kids, Sam and Kim were regular visitors!
Billy had a lot of toys—— a forty foot “Hawian”- Jet skis—— bikes and boats—— holidays at the Seebold’s were holidays to remember!
Today was around the hundred degrees mark——- tomorrow could be the hottest day here this century.
Still no sign of cooler weather on the horizon——- by the cringe it’s one hell of a summer, I’ve had shorts on for three months ———- has never happened before.

If my sainted mother was alive today, I would tease her until she chased me round her kitchen with a carving knife———— always prided myself on being “Persil” white——-never got brown or suntanned ever. So today I look like I have a touch of the tar brush, legs like mahogany and my face is more the colour of GERONIMO, Well, after two months of wall to wall sunshine, even I change colour.
Did the car boot sale—— got a socking great big MURANO vase for shirt buttons and half a dozen camels for Lizzie. A dozen CD’s for a fiver———— and sold a bunch of old tools for a score!
All in all, a satisfactory start to the day.

Thought id left a motor running———- was loud and regular——- turned out to be “ERMINTRUDE”,
Trying fervently to get through the glass of the workshop window——— managed to gently persuade her to fly off to quieter patches than my shop on a Wednesday !

Talking of “ERMINTRUDE”——— I know that the Evinrude brand is the walking dead but just not prepared to roll over in case Volvo or Seagull or Carniti decide to shell out a few sheckles simply for the name and maybe resurect it, but whatever happened to the Johnson brand of outboards?
Maybe it was a case of modern day CAIN and ABEL————- one killed off the other——— just asking, cos it seems to me, the only thing keeping anything alive for the old firm is Lassie Strom on S&F.
Its not my place really to tell him I think he’s flogging the dead horse.
Now I know Mercury have brought out a series of V 8 Motors that reach for the stars——- but Jesus wept, you would have thought their publicity men could have used a bit of imagination and flair, for the firm that thought up Thunderbolt—— Mercathode, Mercruiser and MERCDONALDS—— I think the launch pad was piss poor!
Hells teeth, they’ve got not only this planet, but the rest of the universe to call on, surely it’s not beyond the wit of man to get off the tunnel vision train and use a bit of imagination——- put some excitement back into the product.
How about a a new 50 horse V8 .”THE CENTURION”———-guardian of the gateway to the future???

Maybe Mercury should look to the past to move into the future—— ask a few of the old farts where they’re not going wrong——- but not moving with the flow.
Funny how the younger ones think the older ones lost their marbles when they were put out to pasture!

Was over 95 today——- hot and sticky, no wind at all and tomorrow. Looks like being the hottest July day ever!
Its a rare thing to see a man of any age in long pants nowadays——— no matter how ridiculous we look ——— everyone is in shorts, from when they get up—— to when they retire for the night!

Hey Gene, you been putting many hours on tho old “MALIBUSTANG” ?—— you did lots of hanger time last year———- are you all through with the maintenance? You got the old bird airworthy again.?

It has always been my pleasure and yes, we have had a lot of fun along the way. Another reason I haven't taught you how to post right side up is because I may need to use my saved brownie points if I ever get banished back to the naughty step. WHO TOOK THE DOOR OFF .? ——- That’s no way to treat a Lexus !
So, we get the once in a lifetime “BLOOD RED MOON” tonight——— 270 years before it happens again, even I might not be around for the next one.
Cut out the carcass of seven V8 modern day outboards——- next project requires five——- and it’s always good to have a couple ready, just in case so to speak.
Started out with a brand fire new blade in the Startrite——— after I’d cut out the seven motors the blade was buggered. Been trying for years to find a blade that will last, but they’re proving to be rare as hens teeth.
Haircut and beard trim this morning, that’s a right royal decree, not a request——- her majesty
reckons I could be mistaken for a tramp and locked up for loitering——— tried to point out that they don’t lock up blue arsed flies———— but it’s water off a ducks back !
Have To go, Madame needs a hand to get in the shower——- have fitted handles around the house—— by the doors——- bath and shower room, but I’m still wanted to hang on to———- I still have my uses.

Dear Bob..Please stop posting the pictures of smashed Lexiii, I'm beginning to think that maybe that either they are not the safemobiles that we believed they were or perhaps they are being piloted by the "wrong sort"..

Jackie. It looks like a Welshman might just win the Tour de France. That will be 4 in a row for riders from the UK. I watch that stuff because I raced that stuff for about as long as I raced boats.

My sainted mother always called “pedal power” ———“ Britches arse steam power” ——- was never an enthusiast for physical sport——- always reserved my energy for sex and a long life with some bits of happiness chucked in for good measure———— I have it on good authority that physical workouts , particularly running and cycling can considerably shorten your life span?
