Jackie,
Did you see my post on the OFF thread directed to you? You can reply to my e-mail address [email protected]
Gene, is that bird of yours a Cherokee-----nosecone looks about right-----post me a piccie would you, just curious!
Good morning Jackie
The bird is not a Piper Cherokee, but a Piper Malibu--the spinner is polished Aluminum--

Jackie---I have owned a few airplanes in the past 40 years, maybe you need a choice of 'nosecones'? This is a Cessna product--a Centurion--I doubt you will recognize the young man--

Jackie, I know that a 'concept' doesn't need to be period correct---but I included this P-51. The P-51 shares the same wonderful engine as the Spitfire--the Merlin--
(You might recognize one of these young men)

Great pics Mr. Lanham.... :thumbsup:Very nice equipment. Thanks for postin! :) Gary
Spun up a few more "LANGHAM" spinners, did one complete with roller bearings, reason being, everybody walks up to the spits and tries to spin the props----- this in spite of the fact they are bolted on to the fuselage. Only way to get over this is fit a prop that spins freely. So I have!
Started to make a wheel today for a SILVER GHOST. Will try and make it a bit less "Conceptual" and a tad more authentic. Need to do something with a purpose, to make me concentrate-------I've been butterflying for too long!
Have an idea for one last project before I get stuck into the Roller for real!
Last one I did took me over six months to construct-----hope to finish this one by Christmas!
Was always going to be the "ALL BLACKS" that lifted the World Cup , they were superb to watch, Aussies tried, but failed, only gave a fair account of themselves, a touch unlucky maybe------you don't go to a gun fight with a broom!
Hamilton qualified second again-------interesting to see if he's full of his own success or still hungry!
If he wins the next three, he might answer some questions.
So, Bernies getting quotes from the likes of COSWORTH----ILMOR to find a motor for all teams at a tenth the price of the "HYBRIDS", trying to level the playing field and make F1 interesting again, fat chance, it's gone way too far downhill. Doubt if even Murdoch got enough dinero to resurrect it.
Gene, I used to wear backless clogs all the time, but used to fall Arse over tip when I stepped backwards, had to bin 'em in the end.
Me gone for tonight, MYGGWY.J.
Just seen that an Airbus has crashed in Russia killing over 200------really do hope this not sabotage or the fall out could be catastrophic.
World rugby cup over and done with for another four years.
Fifa, the only outfit more crooked than F1-----Blatter, rotten to the core.
Anyone agree with me, it's time to stop this PC nonsense.
My old friend Bill Mouland had it pegged right when he said " Just because the rat lives in the hen coop, It don't make him a chicken"?
No doubt we'll talk later in the day, enjoy the weekend!J.
Started out with a head full of ideas and a need to do something after Jilly and I nailed the Telegraph General Knowledge Crossword, (it's a Sunday morning breakfast ritual for the last 20years)
spun up the rim, then the hub, inserted the roller bearing and measured up for the spokes. Put a three mm thread on a couple of the spokes, that's as far as I got! Kitchen Goddess informed me we were going out to lunch at the "CRAB AND LOBSTER" in Sidlesham.
Had Selsey crab cakes as a starter swilled down with a pint of "Sussex Best" then had the sirloin with fries and onion rings. Passed on the pudding , I was well sated!
Dropped Jilly off at the hospice, popped in to see Matt, I'm sure he didn't recognise me, he's nearly closed down, told Jilly I would pick her up in three hours which I did, again Matt failed to recognise me.
Strange times in the Wilson household these days, everything on hold but off kilter -----take each day as it comes, act accordingly, chin up , nothing we can't manage! I've got to hoping nobody calls in or phones------only oasis is the shop! Face it head on like always, don't let it affect you! I am a rock, an island, got a strong heart that only bleeds occasionally and the biggest shoulders in the world for anyone and everyone to lean on. I'll be there, just like always.
Strong smell of mackerel in Mexico, thank God there's only two more processions to endure, you can't in all honesty call it "Racing" any more.
Mercedes have the constructors title and drivers title and it looks like second place as well all nicely sown up, but apart from the odd Rosberg/Hamilton flare up, the series has been dull as ditchwater.
Watching paint dry and dog walking are positively exiting compared to F1 racing these days.
You remember I told you there were too many "OXCAM" players in the England Rugby Union team?
Today the England Rugby League team took New Zealand apart-----it was made up of working class street fighters that wore the England shirt with pride.
until they drop the "Old Boys" network in sport, England will always be piss poor!
Have a full day in the shop planned for tomorrow-----need to move forward and make progress, onwards and upwards MacDuff? Night all! MYGGWY.J.
Trying to decide which motor to run on "Pughie". It's already crossed the pond and landed safely in Tennessee. Need to get some TN orange on it and a TDO sticker. Thanks Jackie!!!!!

Glad to help Roger, did you like all the old cleaning rags from the shop, 'Twas the only thing I could find to stop "PUGHIE" from getting damaged in transit. Don't even need 'em back, how's that for a deal ?
Seems like everyone wants to take parcels to the USA -------that weighed in at 4.5 kilos, a tad under £40 =$50 . It's a good yardstick for future reference.
As it turned out, it helped me out of a hole for a while-----kept the damned Athritis at bay for a week or so and the little grey cells active----saved me from going "Doolally Tat".
Skulked around the shop this morning trying to find something of interest to tickle the taste buds.
Cosworth has been relegated to the patio table, realized it could do with a half decent trailor underneath it, I'm halfway through making wheels anyway, why not? Spent three hours on one wheel -------bored and tapped the axle, polished the wheel nut -----will stamp CSW on the wheel nut, just for fancy.
Mind wandered and I cut out some old English oak for the new project-----if it's any good, I'll send you a sneaky preview end of the week.
Jilly spent the afternoon with Matt, said he was calmer today, he's been in the hospice two weeks now, must be some sort of record!
Opened the iPad this morning-----could not think of a single damn thing to say-----so I closed it up.
End of waffling for today, thanks for listening, MYGGWY.J.
Looked back at last weeks posts--------by the cringe, what a diversity of subjects------we never dwell on one thing for long.
Was particularly pleased "Fujimo" brought up FIONA COUNTESS OF ARRON known by lots of us as " "Lady Fred" . You couldn't help but like her, absolutely full of character, had a very POSH accent, (lived in a HICE-------sounds like mice). One of the GO FOR IT racers!
Remember Pruett pushing throttles for Betty Cook, Roz Knott introduced me to her at the London Boat Show--------she also brought Ken Warby to Brighton to see me after his record run!
Time to get up, I'm "Waffling on" again, have a good day!
