Going from 19-24 is leap. If you don't have a minimum 5 hrs on it I would wait. Your going to need all of those 1200cc and no issues to get it up to the high side. Run good gas 92 or better.

Oops - Still have a full tank of 87 octane in her haha.
She just felt so overpowered with the 19pitch. I'm just going to try her out If the guy is around Saturday.
Put the 87 in the lawnboy , don't push it with 87.
I think I have a crappy compression gauge. Or the machine shop didn't take off the material I asked from the head, and just resurfaced it. It's only 125/125/130 on cyl 1,2,3.
Now wtf with this starter?!?! The large bolt underneath the cog is just spinning inside the cog. Idk the correct verbiage.

watch in slowmo
that's funny do it again. WTF. You have the carbs wide open , all plugs out, run safety switch off or no power to ign and in neutral? 130 is too low , 165-175 for fun. He cut it but you raised the ports so cut some more.
Just popped throttle cable off at motor, held it wide open by hand. Time to cut more I guess.
Had spark all the way through the range so it dying is deff fuel.
Now I need to figure out this damn starter.
you'll get a good jump in hp when you go from 125-165, wake right up. lol The roller throttle cam follower on the bottom carb , just hold that open .
I am certain I am opening the door to being slammed and flamed right outta here but I am gonna share with you MY experience. When I first rebuilt my powerhead and got it running, my compression was showing right at 120 psi. I did my test with the engine warmed up, all plugs were out and the throttle was wide open. I had specified to my machinist when doing the head work that I wanted right around 155-160. I called him and he told me to get about 10 hours or so on the engine and then check it. This was my first outboard rebuild so I did what he said to do. Afterputting about 10-11 hours on it I did the test again and sure enough, the compression had come up significantly. Now the compression was holing right at 135. Still not where I wanted but closer. I ran another 3-4 hours normal driving with normal oil mix and it came up to 141-ish. I had a wild thought and decided to test with a couple different gauges and discovered my gauge reads right at 15 psi lower than the others.
So, I guess what I am trying to say is in my experience my compression DID increase after I put a few hours run time AND also your gauge could be reading a little low. Mine was brand new and I was CERTAIN there was no way it was wrong until I did a side by side with a few others.
Slimm
My experience with the last Chrysler and WIsecos. Cold fresh 5 hrs powerhead 165 all four. 175hrs later 162.
I appreciate the input slim. I won't be doing a compression check until I get this thing running right for sure. Need to get some gas through it.
I am starting to think the midrange dying problem is fuel, but not the pump at all. While on the muffs, and holding a third throttle, it would hiccup and sputter. Hitting the primer bulb did nothing. I opened the idle mixture screws to 2 full turns out and it runs much better. I'm putting it in the water again today and see how it does. I may go out to three turns ---
Heres what hat the plugs looked like when it died on the muffs.
YOu can't just throttle without spark advance unless you do it superr slow or it will cough and fart out. Set the ign. at 34. Burn to one side of plug is good .
So I'm about 3 turns out on the mixture screws. Midrange problem solved!!! Runs fine.
until today... Was cruising at 20mph and its like someone hit the kill switch. Just died. Zero spark. Back to the drawing board again.
Deff need a new prop. 6200rpm, 43mph. Lameeeeee. Way under propped.
Watch the vid. Out on the pond twice... Towed home twice.

ckick above.
now why the heck is this pic uploaded upside down?!?! Nothing goes right with me. Ugh.
Uploaded twice. Never changed anything. One right side up, one upside down. Gotta love stuff that works as it's supposed to.
funny in that video, cruising slow, I give thumbs up, and the damn motor dies. Like hittin the kill switch. Zero spark. Wtf.
less you , more her :D
Was that 6200 at wot or will it turn more? I hope for your sake a bad connection .Sounds good , it will be fun once it has everything sorted.
