The Mosquito was one of the prettiest planes ever built——- but it was a TWIN engined FIGHTER/BOMBER.
The Yankee pump screwdriver was banned from the workshop floor——- it kept slipping out of the slotted screws of the day and punching holes in the plywood.
Just another piece of totally irrelevant and useless information———- we get a lot of that on the “TRICKS” site.

When we got to Torx drive being commonplace for fastening, I went thru my garage / shop inventory and practically threw everything away that had slots.
I don't even remember the last time I drove a screw in by hand. It's all cordless lithium ion drill / driver tools these days...........

...In the wood boat building world, the "Reed & Prince" silicone bronze wood screws were the next generation screws, that replaced the straight slot wood screws. They were a recessed cross head pattern that came to a point at the inside bottom, and could only be driven with Reed & Prince driver or bit. Very precise fitment & quality for the times. Was amazed to find I’d had five children——- who gave me eleven grandchildren——— who have produced eleven great grandchildren——- yes, I can tell you the name of each and every one of them, how crazy is that ?
I nearly did not go to the gathering at the TITCH———- but glad I did in the end!
So today I took a day off with the intention of spending some time with Craig———- I needed to know just what they were up to——— which way they were headed——- just how good they were in today’s world of carbons and composites———- itnever happened.
Ten hours on the beach, perfect summers day——- playing Boules, Cricket, American football——- hosepipe on full chat, soaking kids and adults all day long.
seven bottles of TATTINGER “ four bottles of MOËT and lots of red and white wine washed down the non stop supply of fodder for the family.
Never got my nap ——- or the Quality time I wanted with Craig———- Family time Took over the day.Tomorrow is Craigs last day before he heads back to Florida and I take off to the south of France——- so Monday is our last chance for a face to face.
Does it matter ? ——— probably not——— but once I’ve got a bee in my bonnet———— it’s like the crabs——— hard to get rid of.
So, there’s a thousand pictures of ALL members of the WILSON clan cavorting on the beach——- Craig took Simons shorts off him and ran down the beach with Simon in naked full flight——— don’t doubt the pictures will hit Facebook before the days out..
Came home exhausted——— happy——- disappointed—— wonder how many folk get a Family day in their life——- with everyone in one place at the same time.
Take a look at when you last did it ——— you may get a shock !

AN only really exists in aircraft/military stuff and hence moved into hot rod stuff.
You never hear the term AN when dealing with hydraulic machinery anywhere in the world.
( metric hydraulic fittings are horrible and the way they do things, yes AN is the simplest system and would be great if that was the only standard)

The Pozidriv (sometimes incorrectly spelled "Pozidrive") is an improved version of the Phillips screw drive. It is designated "Type IA" by ANSI standards.[6]
The Pozidriv was patented by GKN Screws and Fasteners in 1962.[20][21] It was specifically designed to allow more torque to be applied and greater engagement than Phillips drives. As a result, the Pozidriv is less likely to cam out.[10][22][23][24] It is similar to, and compatible with, the Supadriv screw drive.[25]
Pozidriv screwdrivers are often designated using the letters "PZ" followed by a size code of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 (in order of increasing size).[10] The numbers do not necessarily correspond to nominal screw size numbers.
Pozidriv screws have a set of radial indentations (tick marks) set at 45° from the main cross recess on the head of the screw, which makes them visually distinct from Phillips screws.[10]
While a Phillips screwdriver has angled (tapered) flanks, a pointed tip, and rounded corners, a Pozidriv screwdriver has straight-sided (square edge) flanks, a blunt tip, and additional smaller ribs at 45° to the main slots. The manufacturing process for Pozidriv screwdriver bits is therefore more complex than that for Phillips: while a Phillips screwdriver bit can be manufactured by cutting four simple slots, the Pozidriv screwdriver tip requires two machining processes at right angles for each slot.
Pozidriv and Phillips are broadly interchangeable, but may cause damage if incorrectly used. While Pozidriv screwdrivers fit Phillips screws, they may slip or tear out the Phillips screw head.
